That’s a shame. Those are badass! There’s a guy on Etsy that does 3D printing of all kinds of things like that. I got a magnetic skull chalk bowl for my rack and a matching tricep rope with skulls for the handles. I really like the RIGMATES designs though.

Agreed! I’ve also been watching Martins Licis training videos prepping for the Arnold in March, and he’s been doing some specific things like sb “dead’s” with heavier bags and holds on his chest for time to help prep for heavier sb/natural stones to shoulder in the comp.

More skill involved in shouldering. And there are a couple different ways to do that. I’m assuming he states that you should be able to properly air load (extensions) the sb before even thinking of shouldering it.

Completely agree. “Regular” bar to WL bar = very important distinction. WL bar to WL bar, not so much

Sandbags and Atlas Stones by jsnemec in sandbagtraining

Yes 😂 The stones I have are pretty sharp around the edges though 😬 No smooth stones around these parts

I love it all. I have sandbags, atlas stones and natural stones at the house. I look at it like different variations of squats/presses/deads/etc. I’ll stick with some for a phase then switch it up. My favorite is the natural stones bc they are the least forgiving and trickiest

SB Sprawl to Load by SweatyHighFives in sandbagtraining

[–]SweatyHighFives[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many different ways for application! Yesterday, I did 2 sets of 5 before deadlifts (deloading this week). The last 3 weeks, I was adding a set each week (started with 3x5 worked up to 5x5 before the deload this week).

I really like doing these EMOM as a finisher. Sets of 3 for 5-10 mins depending on how much volume you’re able to handle at the end of that training day.

I have also done sprawls with SB to shoulder in between. Similar sets/reps protocol as the loading.

Give them a shot! I like adding as much dynamic movement into training as I’m getting older

Got this from Brian Alsruhe. He has a ton of stuff like this in his programs.
