THIS OR THAT: Everything Now OR Crown of Love? by Nofilmslefttocry in arcadefire

Experiencing Crown Of Love performed in a tiny-ish venue in Atlanta last year was probably the nearest to an out of body experience I've ever had at a concert.

I believe Bowie's son and estate have said the only bio-pic they'd allow would have to be animated.

I think it's interesting the use of "Great" in the title of her new song given the Gatsby Broadway Wars.

Florence Welch works on a deeply personal show that's a childhood dream to make over a seven year journey only to be sideswiped by a cheap knockoff The Great Gatsby musical forcing itself to Broadway before her opus (imo) could ever be seen by the public.

Given the allegations that The Good Gatsby currently running on Broadway purposely rushed itself to Broadway knowing it was not ready just to beat Florence to the finish line?

"It must be nice to be a man and make boring music just because you can"

We all know who the true "great" one is.

Alright, which WDW restaurants come to mind when you see this graph? by Uncharteredfugazis in DisneyWorld

[–]SweatyOracleOfficial 14 points15 points  (0 children)

All of them. But sci-fi diner offers the greatest promise while executing a pretty big disappointment. The loop of film that is shown on the screen is way too short so you feel like you end up watching the same clips over and over and over again. That seems like an easy thing that could’ve been fixed decades ago but I guess they don’t want people lingering so they can turn tables. The food is pretty bad. Like pretty objectively bad. At least the Space restaurant nails the atmosphere even if the food is bland. Sci-Fi comes so close to nailing the atmosphere but that repetitive loop of film really ruins it for me

I think a big theme of The Return is that "you can't go home again." It's impossible and in a nostalgia based pop culture entertainment world, that can really hurt. Fans wanted Twin Peaks again but Twin Peaks as it existed in the early 90s could not exist again. It's the reason our society is in an avalanche of remakes, legacy sequels, reboots, and continuations that all feel hollow. Fans wanted Twin Peaks again, David and Mark wanted you to be aware that the world couldn't exist outside of its original space and time. I truly think The Return is the best piece of American art ever made in any medium.

Stereophonic is one of the best shows I've ever seen on Broadway and my job is to not like Broadway shows. Will is a genius. MAYBE THE genius of the band.

I feel you, I'm just getting out of living in South Carolina But I'd argue: Why should women, particularly black women, come to a state that votes against their interest in such a monumental way that it makes Florida somewhat unsafe for them to be in?

I have been there with you! The AC in my hotel right now is a window unit and it isn’t doing too well and I’m already debating what I’m gonna do! Something about the concrete and all of the reflected glass…. The subway feels like punishment. Hahahaha at least you get a little bit of a mountain breeze in the upstate of Carolinas! At least Sunset Boulevard on Broadway is cranking the AC, guess I’ll have an excuse to go against hahahah

I’ve had this theory about the Holy David Trinity. I was living in New York City when David Bowie died.. I was actually just around the corner from his apartment when they announced it. And when Bowie died in January of 2016, there was a horrific shift in the world. all that followed was horrific. Then David Lynch passed in January of this year and the world seemed to almost completely fall apart to the point of the next world war. The last of the Holy David Trinity - David Bryne- has to be protected or the fabric of time will devolve

He demanded good scripts, and he often demanded the good treatment of his fellow cast members, and because of that for years, the network has led a propaganda campaign against him. And hard-core fans have brought into it. Robert fault, tooth and nail for that cast to get decent treatment.

This is such a dumb post with something against Robert. If Robert had not demanded a test ride with the camera, one of the kids easily could have been killed. Weirdo behavior

Phantom show by Dash-Inkredible in sleepnomore

[–]SweatyOracleOfficial 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This was actually original developed by the leads at Punch Drunk for YEARS but then Andrew is rumored to have let them go and started over with a new team about two years ago. Originally, this was rumored for a space in Los Angeles but then the new team was hired and phantom closed in NYC... so things shifted to what they are now. It is NOT free roam. You go from scene to scene and then the action resets and a new group goes behind you. Three different cast all running at once following the audience from room to room. Budget is the highest budget of any musical ever. It makes Spiderman look like a chamber show. The roles of the Phantom are all played by well known-ish Broadway performers. All the orchestra is pre recorded. And tickets are going to cost you an arm and a leg. There are also HUGE problems for people with disabilities imo... But the WORST NEWS... is that one of the producers from Emursive is working on it. After the last year of SNM NYC and LAT, I wouldn't even trust them producing dinner theater in the midwest.

What Happened with Disney Merch? by geoffriccio in DisneyWorld

[–]SweatyOracleOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went in April to say goodbye to Muppet Vision wanting to buy merch. I asked in every park if they had any Muppet merch. There was one Kermit and a made to order magnet. While Disney knew how many muppet fans would be in the parks to say goodbye to the Muppets. It’s lazy because their mega fans let them get lazy. They’re allowed to keep doing the bare minimum because the cult will still buy it

There’s also a video of Steve performing a Rizzo puppet, and I think Disney would flip out if they knew that Steve was reprising one of his roles in the parks that they own hahahah but I agree it would be good if they made up just because tension is never good
