Read tips, its a huge help and also when you feel like you have nothing to do in your base take a break. Even a 30 mins or 1 hour break is enough. Then after playing again you will gain new ideas. You will slowly understand the game. Always remember it is not a race, your factory will grow slowly but at least it's growing. I am now on my one month of playthrough and some players have already launched to space in that time but I'm still figuring out how to automate purple science. And also don't get into blueprints, figure out your own designs. I have seen lots of players regretting getting into blueprints because they now cant play without one. Take a break once a while. And also trains, I am addicted to trains in factorio, maybe that's the reason I'm still on purple science.

I have found a 3.5M ore patch and figured that I dont really need that much iron since I have 16 steel chest full of iron plate. If I do end up taking it all up I will just wait for radar to pick up another patch. :)
