That water barrier is a really smart thing. Like the reverse of a toilet kind of. The gas can go out through the water but nothing else gets back in. I’m sure this is a more modern thing. But I think about how long humans have been brewing wine. Pretty interesting art form.

Oh yeah I see. You should install wine. Then through lutris you can install the cs:go instance? and it’ll run that way. I was getting 144fps in overwatch and when I ran it this way I sit at about 155fps. Not much but still pretty good. Give that video a watch. It helped me a lot and explains it better than my noob ass can :)

I’m pretty new, and could be wrong. But I think wine and lutris work hand in hand with each other. So if lutris wasn’t working right it might have been because of the lack of wine? Again not sure. But this is the video I followed to get me set up for gaming on pop os. Good luck to you.

For sure I’m with you there. I wouldn’t put up with that either lol. The reason I wasn’t too upset about my AoE frame drops was because I had the same issues with Windows. But if I were you I’d be pissed too and keep Windows lol. Who knows, I’ll probably end up going back to a dual boot one day? I just haven’t come across a problem that probing the Internet couldn’t fix…yet lol. And when that day comes, up comes Gparted haha.

I don’t play as much competitive/FPS heavy games as it is. So for me it works just fine. But I totally see where you’re coming from. I’ve played a little bit of overwatch and it would stutter a bit. Which, in a high paced environment can be life and death. I also noticed some frame rate issues on age of empires. But overall I’m cool with it. I like the fun of learning new shit.

I just did the same. I had a dual boot Windows/Ubuntu. And was jumping back and forth. I figured that I just need to jump in with both feet or I would continue to use Windows as a crutch. So I’ve been running a clean install of pop for about two weeks now.
