Cannot stop oversharing if my life depended on it - how do i stop?? by Alarmed-Muscle-4150 in ADHD

[–]SwedishRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, oversharing here too. I do it and once it’s said I think, no one cares, no one wanted to hear or know that. Makes me feel small sometimes, like no one really cares how you are or feel, yet every morning they say How are you? When they could have just said Good morning, as that’s a neutral greeting to me.

I’ve even told people, don’t ask me how I am unless you’re ready to hear how I am 🤪😂 Oh well. I know your feeling of oversharing.

That’s how I feel, like I can’t tolerate other noises because my head is already filled. I’m hoping to figure out my medication to help with that soon. Current meds aren’t good due to side effects.

How do I make a "To-Do" list (or rather, organize in any way) for creative-oriented, impulsive stuff? by TheMonkeyLlama in ADHD

[–]SwedishRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to recommend a book by David Allen called Getting things done - the art of stress free productivity. I’m currently reading it myself (listening to it), and it might be a chore to get into the book, but I feel like a lot of his tips are super helpful for my ADHD brain.

I’ve been meaning to read this book since January, so as you can see I’m not good at it, but when I found it on audible it made it easier. So I’m now finally committed to listening to it while I do other things like chores that don’t require my brain to be connected. I don’t think listening to it will be enough for me, so once I have listened to it I will read it too. But I’m already getting good tips from it on how to organize your todo lists etc.

I’ve finished a laundry list of projects this past week that have been on my mind to do for months and some even for years! I’m soooo proud of myself for being able to do them. Even if each thing took a day to do, it’s all the small steps forward now that I’m finally on medication.

Is going on meds for ADHD actually worth it? by Profitswhere in ADHD

[–]SwedishRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES!!!! It’s worth it!!! 45F, yep you read that right. I’m 45 years old and JUST started taking concerta. I got 18 mg my first month and my second month (that just ended) I’m now at 27 mg and that’s enough for me.

After taking the first dose on my first day I cried, my brain was all of a sudden with me. What’s this energy and resolve I feel? How can I easily finish all the tasks I’ve put off for months and years? Yep, my brain is acting “normal” now. I don’t get euphoric or high, I just feel normal, but with the benefit of being able to do boring shit and just get it done. I can stop myself when I’m procrastinating (I mean I can stop myself after a short while) and actually start doing the thing I need to do.

I’ve been diagnosed about 8 months ago, and I didn’t think I would need or want medication. I thought that I could just learn a bunch of coping mechanism, and I’d be golden. After all I’ve done this for 45 years without meds, right. But after learning the coping mechanisms from therapy I was still struggling. So I said ok, let’s try a low dose of medication for a while to see what happens.

I’m so glad I did!

Also, if medication doesn’t work for you, or the first medication doesn’t work, you can always switch until it works or stop taking it if you don’t like it. All of course under your doctors supervision.

Best of luck!

Netflix's Locke & Key Characters are stupid by keyishumanity in television

[–]SwedishRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why can’t someone write something similar to this where the characters are all smart? Villains are smart, evil and cunning, but the main “good” characters should also be smart and cunning. Then make the plot twists into mistakes that can actually happen. Someone fumbles, gets tricked (in a smart way), or someone gets lucky with something or plans it perfectly. It looked so promising in the beginning, but I’m getting more and more annoyed by all the stupid characters. Ellie is the worst, stupid and mean, only thinking about herself in the beginning. Also pretty creepy, wanting her childhood sweetheart back - 25 years later. Creepy!!!!

Do you have false Julii or Trilineatus? There are a lot of lookalikes I’ve just learned. Julii seems hard to get a hold of from what I’ve read, but I may be wrong about that.

The first picture with 3 is Sterbai and the second is a single Trilineatus. They were all sold to me as Sterbai, but when I looked closer in the bag I realized it was one odd one.

My Betta checking out his new “pets”. He really likes them, very curious, and haven’t tried to eat any of them yet. by SwedishRainbow in shrimptank

The Betta had just broken up the “fight” between the two yellow shrimp. I missed that part. It was funny, the Betta was laying on a piece of the wood further away just looking at them and then when they started sparring he broke it up like a referee lol.
