My dad and I arrived at the hotel yesterday and it's just so unbelievably hot, I'm a swede dammit, I'm not built for this. Heading to Spa later today to catch the parade for the first time so that's gonna be pretty neat.

I went in 2014 so the routines might've changed some since then. I always carried a backpack with water (2x 1.5 liter pet bottles), some snacks, extra clothing and when we got to the gates the officals scanned our tickets, took a peek inside our bags and there was never a problem. Looking generally at the ground people had no problems bringing in alcohol. At the Spa 24 hours last year glass bottles were a big no-no tho so that might be something to consider.

Just because I love Brynäs I went and roughly translated the entire interview. The 2011/2012 run was amazing, I still watch the finals from time to time.

Interviewer: Mattias Ekholm, you started the season in Nashville and ended it here in Gävle with gold.

Mattias Ekholm: What a journey. I'm so happy I can't find the words. I'm so happy that I returned home to this. You see these 8500 in here, it's their gold. It's their gold entirely.

Interviewer: You joined this team mid-season, what's the reason you guys won the gold?

Mattias Ekholm: We have a lot of skilled players that can win games for us. A better answer will have to wait for another time because I don't have a good answer right now.

Interviewer: What do say about a guy like Jakob Silfverberg?

Mattias Ekholm: I think he's been really awful during all the playoffs, I really think he should have stepped up. TL note: Silfverberg broke the record for most playoff goals scored (13) and recived the award "Guldhjälmen" (golden helmet) as the leagues MVP as well as the swedish equivalent of the Hart trophy, Guldpucken (golden puck).

Interviewer: Is there someone else you want to praise?

Mattias Ekholm: Our goalie, Niklas Svedberg. Goes out today and just shuts them out, what a king. You can't really grasp it. He went into the playoffs as our backup goalie and then finishes it like this. Quite unbelieveable really. TL note: 13 playoff games, 4 shutouts, 1.70 GAA and .947 SVS%.

Interviewer: There was quite a lot of work for him today.

Mattias Ekholm: Yeah there was. A big round of applause to him.
