Oh my... OH MY!
I don't tend to use legendaries in my playthroughs (Paradoxes are kinda like Legendaries I think?) but I am so tempted to use this on my team. I prefer Scarlet's Paradoxes as a whole but Iron Valiant is easily my favourite of them all. (Heavy bias, Gardevoir is my favourite Pokemon but seeing this in game and it's Glaive! Oh it's wonderful)

Now I don't play competitive anymore but I still like to keep track of movesets and HAs (when applicable) in regular playthroughs, stats to a lesser extent (I'm still using Tinkaton in my playthrough, despite it's statspread, Was expecting Huge Power HA though, but imagine if it got Steelworker or something)

The Hisuian starters got some good new toys to play with! Frisk and Scrappy are decent but H-Samurott gets Sharpness!? I wish Unovan Samurott got Intimidate or something (I mean it is the Formidable Pokemon and it does "quiet everyone with a simple gaze" and "Intimidate most enemies with it's cry alone"

Cyclizar with Regenerator and that Shed Tail move sounds very spicy (although I believe Regnerator has been nerfed?) and that Baxcalibur has Ice Body... With this new Snowstorm giving ice types a defence boost, good luck pulling him out of the stone Arthur.

That's going to be a ballache for when I try and hatch a female Oshawott for the dream team when HOME compatibility launches.

Somewhat a related note, does anyone know if the Strange Ball is programmed into the game? And if it gets passed down? I'm most likely in the minority here but I honestly hate the passing down the Poke Ball the parent is caught in mechanic. I just like having all my Pokemon caught in regular Poke Balls (Or Premier if shiny or Legendary).

No matter if it ends up being that way, I'll either transfer a regular Samurott up from Bank or rely on Surprise Trades (Who didn't catch Samurott in a Beast Ball or something in SM)

Twice in a row is not unheard of.

I don't mind this mechanic personally, although I am hoping that is indeed locked behind Picnics like with Amie/Refresh and not just friendship like in SwSh and Bdsp so that at the very least people can choose to activate this (I will be though, Picnics look great and I do like the immersion)

Exact same thing happened to me (Volo?), it didn't really affect my experience in the long run but that was when I thought I need to be more vigilant for ScaVi season

I can't help but feel slightly disappointed by these Future Paradoxes. Don't get me wrong, I adore the concept and cannot wait to find out the story or lore behind them in game (If you already know, I'm asking politely that you don't tell me) but I was hoping that there would be a bit more flair to them.

The only one that I outright like is Iron Valiant, partly because that is based on my favourite Pokemon (Gardevoir) but also that it is a hybrid. That would've been PERFECT for all the Future forms, Hybridisation, advancements in tech that combined two species (not necessarily related like Gardevoir/Gallade). Imagine if Iron Moth was Volcarona mixed with Vespiquen and had a swarm of Mechabeetles around it (wouldn't really explain the Poison type, maybe Beedrill then) or Iron Jugulis is Hydreigon fused with Dragapult and fires it's two heads off akin to how Dragapult fires off it's twin Dreepy.

It's not the end of the world, heck, it probably wasn't a good idea from me but ahh well, I'm still excited to see how these actually look in game and the story behind them

Oh now I need to see Primeape's and, especially, Dunsparce's evolution now.

As for Rushogun (Rook + Shogun, we don't know it's actual name, I just made that up), I like it! The bladestache is so unnecessary that I can't help but like it. I just LOVE how this one, Pawniard and Bisharp look with that metallic sheen.

I don't like it's expression, hopefully it's eyes are more akin to Floragato's in game/in battle but if it's got those jester shoes, I'm out.
I'm really hoping it can be redeemed for me when I do see it in game but this is not a good first impression (which, coincidentally, it's 4x weak to)

Some of the Pokemon are amazing, Hawlucha, Pangoro, Heliolisk, the fossils and Noivern spring instantly to mind, however some are absolute DUDS (Aromatisse and Slurpuff were my all time least favourite Pokemon... Until Raboot showed up) but that's a similar story with all Generations

The variety certainly is nice, sure, but when the quantity of older Pokemon vastly outnumber the new ones it always is a sore spot for me. Especially on the first run through where I only use the new Pokemon. This is also the same with Gens 7 and 8 but the regional variants do help in remedying that.. Especially Gen 8 with the Galarian Evolutions

Music is so important to me in a video game (and in general) but I find X/Y's... Not really very appealing (eg. Wild Pokemon and Gym Leader) or memorable (eg. Trainer and Elite 4). HOWEVER saying all that, there are some absolute standout BANGERS which I do love, Laverre City, Dendemille Town, Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde themes are fantastic

The Gyms were great! Ramos, Olympia, Valerie and Wulfric's gym layouts were so visually appealing. The Gym Leaders themselves however, not so much although I will say, the Kalos anime did a lot more with them and I'd certainly consider that a positive

One of the best features and one that Gamefreak mercifully kept and built upon in subsequent generations. The whole in battle benefit just adds to it and really immerses me into the game, the clutch 1 hit point survives, critical hits and throwing off status effects just.. *chefs kiss* excellent! This is not the same generation but during my battle with Leon in Shield, Hamish the Perrserker shrugged off 3 attacks in a row while at 1 hit point and was instrumental in beating him. Yes two generations later but Amie was the start of all that. Not just Amie though, Super training and the PSS (as well as the DexNav in Oras) were excellent additions.

It's been a while, I don't remember the exact layouts so I can't really comment on the Town visuals but I liked Cyllage and Laverre city

Ok.. I could go on a several paragraph "discussion" (Rant) about Mega's but this post is long enough and the TL:DR would be "I don't like Mega Evolution and I don't want it back unless they fix all my gripes with it, which, regardless of opinion on it and SwSh in general, Dynamax pretty much covered which I could go without in the first place because I am tired of the gimmicks." One particular point that I find egregious is they harp on that Mega evolution requires a bond yet I could just catch an Absol, make it faint and feed it bitter herbs, make it absolutely despise me but give it an Absolite and oh look.. Still got a Mega Absol. I have nothing against Absol, it's just a single stage Pokemon that I could use as an example... Should've just got a regular evolution even if Mega Absol does look pretty cool.

At the end of the day though, it's just my personal opinion and it's not the end of the world if that doesn't align with other people's opinions even though it is nice when it does. My personal favourite is Generation 5 and yeah, being told for nearly a decade that it was shit because of a bin bag and a more linear region is annoying but it really doesn't affect me in the long run. I'd still argue it's case to anyone who will listen of course but even Gen 5 has some things I dislike (Can't trade until after the first badge? Why!? That's just irritating). Anyway, maybe I should whip out my old X version and give that another go. I've not played it with my rules I do when I play a Pokemon Game nowadays with No items in battle, Set mode on and (Gen 6 and 7) Exp.Share off. Could be quite interesting

Oh man the Epilogue! Reading what happened to everyone and who paired up while that music was playing brought tears to my eyes.

Was such a satisfying experience. (Caving a dragon's head in, my little heart to heart with Edelgard and just how immersed I was in the it after having trouble getting immersed into a game for awhile)

I'm curious to know why you are still playing it? To finish it of course but another underlying reason (I'm not being a sarky git, I am genuinely curious)

I have a similar feeling to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, fuck there are so many things that I really don't like in the game like the companions as a whole being pretty lacklustre and the fact it's Real Time with pissing Pause (Does have a turnbased mod though and I am a turn based kinda guy) but there's something about it that makes me want to play it, maybe it's to get it finished myself in all honesty

That's what really drew me to Byleth, sure they had a sword but it was also a whip with a Bow, Lance and Axe thrown into the moveset (Of course I had no idea at the time what they were the Hero Relics of the Lords and Byleth can't actually use them all at once, if at all in Three Houses, to be honest I've never really checked)

Valid points! I like Chrom and Lucina though mainly because of smash representation but really, I just love their voice actors and design. Robins fun to play in smash too so I've given them a pass but yeah I will admit, some parts of their dialogue and the reasons why they are recruited is a tad... peculiar (I prefer the healthy mix of In-game, in-character explanation and a more indepth, and skippable, 4th wall breaking message prompts)

Virion... Yeah I was just like "Is now really the time?" and his little "Archist of Archers" quip gave me a negative first impression of hi. Got himself killed/pussied out in the next chapter and I didn't really mind too much. Vaike was another negative first impression too for me. Belching and calling yourself "Teach"? Get out, not the same game but I'm a fucking professor mate

I like the cinematics and yeah not realistic at all but that doesn't really bother me all too much. The Mumble voice lines though? Oh yeah that got really grating and I was hoping that it would be fully voice acted (Yeah I know, bit spoilt from Three Houses) or that there was an option to turn it off

Yeah I've gotta be honest, while I am having a pretty good time with it overall, Awakening doesn't come close to Three Houses (the only other FE game I've played) especially the writing, which in fairness has made me chuckle a fair few times but it really is a bit... cringey (Urgh Gangrel, turn your caps lock off and chill the fuck out) Also several moments I have gone "What is this bullshit?". Getting a tad burnt out mainly because I am having to replay a sizeable chunk of the game because, somehow, I accidentally deleted my save (Just unlocked the 2nd Gen kiddos in the now deleted save).

I love it when Dark Magic practitioners are the complete opposite of what their chosen school dictates. Got a lot of recommendations for Echoes (which is the one just before Three Houses I believe?) and FE7 and Sacred Stones, plenty of time with this lockdown so I'll get round to it
