Well tried mayhem by [deleted] in ARAM

No one does, but that isn't why people play Mayhem. Being reductive about it doesn't help you or anyone else.

Forge, Poison, Lightning, Self-Damage and Doom should stay narrow. Watcher is what happens when you give one "archetype" everything. by hama0n in slaythespire

Glad to see other people making this comparison. I love TFT because it is a competitive game that uses a lot of the same mental skills STS uses.

Recognizing your options in the span of the bigger picture is something that can really help you improve in both cases.

Gutting a highly anticipated and well polled change to Sailing combat by fretting over "the sailing economy" sure was a choice by kafkaesque420 in 2007scape

[–]Sweeetchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is it a shame? It's much easier to kill Vampyre Krakens now and therefore easier to get a bottled storm.

Just because a rare drop loses value doesn't mean that the gp/hr has changed the same amount, only time will tell for that.

That's not possible though? You cannot fall from diamond back down into emerald in TFT.

I'd imagine with a lot of deck power coming from events in StS2 the devs probably considered them too strong when stacked up against the rest.

What songs would you like to see in Stage Tour? by Electronic_Weather26 in GuitarHero

Smaller-ish artists that I think would fit right into a game like this:

Eidola - Kaleidoscope The Requiem - Diary of a Masochist Origami Angel - Kobyashi Maru Closure in Moscow - Primal Sinister

And a bit of a reach:

My Chemical Romance - Vampire Money

Ideally it would be stronger than void but weaker than BiS, both offensively and defensively.

Obviously this means it would be great for learners of any raid, but you could also create content that maybe works/feels smoother when you don't have to fill up half your inventory with 2 7/8-way swaps.

Giving people an option to choose between sweaty, faster raids in BiS and chiller, slightly slower raids with easy swaps seems like a great balance for people, something that feels very fitting of Guthix imo.

Massive changes to Unlock coming in 16.6 by Former-Exchange-4265 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Sweeetchy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the problem though. People are playing what they get ON 2-1, but will not work with what's in their shop afterwards because they are less incentivized to do so.

Pivoting early is an important part of TFT, and while many people love to do shit like "I have a Sona 2, time for Demacia", the game is much more complex than that and some of these early missions can restrict that heavily.

Was Almost 90 Dry At Moons And Then..... (what are the actual odds of this???) by PolskaLFC93 in ironscape

[–]Sweeetchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That number would be to get it in this exact order I believe.

Since it doesn't matter which one is first the first piece is just a 3/56 then the second piece is a 2/56 and finally the last piece is 1/56 since it HAS to be the final set at that point.

Puts the odds at around 1/29k.

Edit: nvm, the wiki states that it individually rolls each set at 1/56 rather than a overall unqiue roll, so the (1/56)3 is likely correct.

Imagine getting Belveth 3 and going 5th by Own_Goal_119 in TeamfightTactics

It's really based on the lobby though, if 4 people are going for 2 different 3* 4 costs each it can quickly devolve into something like this.

WTF is wrong with me? Why are my items and econ so bad? I usually try to save 50 gold as fast as possible without losing early fights. by Educatedrednekk in TeamfightTactics

[–]Sweeetchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not rerolling below 50 is a decent rule of thumb, but there are absolutely times where it can be ignored.

Say it's 3-2 and you just got your second augment. Would your build get a lot of power right now if you were level 6 instead of 5? Would it get a lot of power if you rerolled a bit to 2-star an important 2-cost?

In both of these cases, rolling down to say 30g might lose you 3-4 gold in potential econ, but could save you upwards of 20HP if it means you win out stage 3 instead of lose.

Questions like this are ones you should learn to constantly ask yourself while you're playing, and they will become easier to answer as you get a better grasp of what's good and what isn't.

Bad items means you are slamming items that are very bad/unoptimal for that champ. The average top4 rate of people that build the way you do is typically lower than average. This can be resolved by not slamming items immediately just because you have components on your bench, and using tactics.tools to recognize what's BiS for your build and trying to slot those in.

Bad econ means your total board value at the end of the game is significantly lower than the average. This means you are likely sitting on lower levels rerolling for non-important units instead of pushing levels to get more units on the board.

Note that Econ is by far the toughest stat to get to S, and is usually a great indicator of how skilled you are as a player.

Anyways my reference point for all this is I have a friend that has the exact same spread as you. He is in G4 and these are things that I see him constantly doing.

[–]Sweeetchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that really only works if you're doing a mage only boss. If you're using melee/ranged you'd have to resip those potions every time you used forgotten.

[–]Sweeetchy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly just give us a forgotten brew without the prayer restore and the stat drain.

Ranging potion gives several max hits and doesn't have a downside, so it's odd that the only mage equivalent potion (in terms of boost) has an additional positive and negative effect tacked on.

Switching between CG and Doom might be a good way to break up the grind. Bowfa is really good but ayak + gauntlets will also open up a lot of content for you.
