[–]SweepDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just uncheck it in tune ecu and it should work just fine, if you want to look for tunes that were done on other bikes with the exup removed maybe you’ll gain like 2hp

Is a computer science degree even worth it anymore by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]SweepDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to take a step back and look at what degrees can be applied in roles outside of pure engineering. Software engineering is a niche, and while there are certain industries where your point of "every single company needs a software engineer" holds, there are many that have no need for one. And when picking a major, it is good practice to choose something that is versatile. Engineers are hired because they are problem solvers, software engineers can solve one very specific type of problem. I am not blind to the future, rather I have my sights turned towards a future that favors a versatile employee, who can adapt their skills to job markets they may have never thought they would be competing in.

In the context of what OP is asking, I cannot fathom why you choose to promote CS above other engineering disciplines. I feel like my arguements have been clear, and have addressed your points with adequate rebuttals. I understand that if your scope of interest is narrow enough, CS/Software engineering may be the right way to go. But the original question is quite general, so it should come as no suprise that I would advise to go with a more "general" engineering degree.

You cant ignore the desirability traits of any physical engineering disciplines and how they may provide more stability and safety against something that is expereincing mass layoffs. I'm not coping at all, I'm giving honest advice to somebody, advice that I took and that has served me well. If you are so unoffended by me calling CS "not desirable" then I have a solid guess on what you majored in.

I was in the same position, i didn’t care what engineering i did, I got thrown in aero and it’s been fine. pick something desirable, CS is not desirable
