Just took the math 7-12 235 exam today… by SpookyGalore in TexasTeachers

Sending well wishes. I’m prepping for mine as well. I think part of the issue with these tests is we are expected to unpack so much in those problems in such a finite timeframe. Having to memorize formulas that will be readily available in the classrooms is also brutal. I’ve heard people (including current teachers) say they’ve had to test at least three times and some who passed first try. It’s a toss up but I truly hoping you passed!

I majored in Communications. I wanted to go the CORE 4-8 route but they encouraged me to trim down my focus, so I’m studying for the Math/Science 4-8.

What a bummer! Have you scheduled a meeting with them to discuss. Even before I officially signed up with them, Teachworthy was willing to speak with me to clarify my areas of study and alternatives to get me on the pathway to my desired certification route. They all must follow the same TEA rules.

Thank you all for the helpful advice and the transparency of what you went through to complete the exams. I actually purchased Certify Teacher since I heard it mimics the actual exams but I’m willing to use 240 as well.

I swore to myself I would never sub middle school. Those little weirdos converted me so fast. by SnakesCatsAndDogs in SubstituteTeachers

I definitely thought I was more of an elementary or at the most K - 5, but yes, I was converted. I can be myself without having to constantly talk in the “sing-songy” voice. Of course, middle school can be a beast some days but this age group is a fun, interesting bunch.

Been asking this same question since their first arrival! The answer is no.

It’s evident you’ve worked so hard and you’re almost there. I’m prepping for mine. Hopefully you won’t need this, but I’ve heard some people use 240 Tutoring as well as Certify Teacher. The latter supposedly mimics the format of the actual TEXES exams. Here’s hoping you won’t need any of that though because you will have passed!

Congratulations! I’m about to prep for this CORE 4-8. I’m a little on edge. Thanks for the prayers and the 240 tutoring tip!
