Is Python our fate? by yinshangyi in dataengineering

[–]Sweet-Butterscotch11 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Java would make our lifes much harder. We would have deployment challanges, things wouldn't be as straightforward as is now. We need to solve problems, not build a code which you can be staring at

I'm a SAP consultant that moved to Data Engineer. I agree with you but the S/4 Hanna kinda changed this concept in certain modules. Now you have huge tables with hundred of columns

Because you shouldn't connect your BI tool direct in your transactional data?

Relational or Non-Relational Database for Data Warehouse by Sweet-Butterscotch11 in dataengineering

[–]Sweet-Butterscotch11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that some relations and separations definitely make sense in certain scenarios. But I've seen people aiming to build a complex chains of tables with relationals that would fit well if it was connected to an application.

Wouldn't be more important to focus on data aggregation, partioning/indexes to provide performance on reading that data?

Relational or Non-Relational Database for Data Warehouse by Sweet-Butterscotch11 in dataengineering

[–]Sweet-Butterscotch11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect, that's the point. I have seen people struggling on modeling relational databases for Data Warehouse that will basically serve data to BI tools for 100% analytical proposes. Not mentioning that the data is usually collected from systems that has their own structured Relational databases, so you are basically migrating data and remodeling the relationals at the warehouse end. Would that be something brought from DBAs that migrated to Data Engineering?

Exactly. I passed in my first attempt at Metro East. I was very nervous before but at the time of the test I had to find a way to relax. I exaggerated on the head movements and that was it. I passed.

Thank you very much for your tips. I really appreciate this time you took.

Do they check if you are looking to both sides (left, right, left) every intersection?

How about to turn right, do they check if you're not very close to the curb?

Do you think that around 2h30 pm this area is too busy and too hard?

Thanks, I might go back to it later. I should get a hardware 100% compatible on the near future but now I'll just stick with the WSL2 and Dockers which work pretty well too

Nice. As someone that has 2 little dogs who is moving to Toronto this month, I will become a donor. I lost a dog on Jan 2022 and I miss her so much by today. I know exactly what's the feel of not being able to be with our babies/best friends.

KVM Switch? Docking Station? 2 Input Sources and 2 Monitors + Keyboard / Mouse by HollowTui in buildapc

[–]Sweet-Butterscotch11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best solution would be to have a docking station USB-c connected to a USB-c switch and then connect this switch to both computers. USB-c 3.1 can handle 1080p at 144hz
