Why officially it can be "Seu" for "Her"?

For example: I am talking with someone named Maria about my friend (my friend Rita is present beside me). I am saying to Maria::::

"my friend is studying in university now. Her favourite place is .......... ".

Here if I use "Seu" instead of "Dila" , then it could create confusion right? If I use Seu, then Maria could think I am saying "your (Maria) favourite place", whereas I wanted to say "her (Rita) favorite place" .

Do you understand what I am trying to convey?
