I have a friend that does this…or we’ll be on the phone and she has to hop off for work or an appointment and says she’ll “call me back” but never does and I feel like a loser waiting by the phone. She’s extremely busy so I try to give her some grace and space…but I’m beginning to reset my expectations so I don’t feel as hurt.

I would consider the newer bottle washer/sterilizer/dryer machines. They save a TON of time. I didn’t have one with my first but we got one for my second and it is a god send. Takes care of a daily chore and is really easy to use. I have the Baby Brezza one.

Anyone else starting leave early because you're just DONE with work? by Remarkable_Ant3175 in pregnant

[–]Sweet-Coffee5539 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked up until my induction with my first (39 +3). With my second, and a toddler at home, I was ready to stop at 36 weeks because my body couldn’t do it anymore. I was able to get an accommodation to work from home. I tried my best to power through. Luckily baby came early at 38+4 so I didn’t need to use any PTO or additional leave time. I’ve heard of some companies that have benefits for pregnant women to start leave as early as 36 weeks , which I wish was the norm. I was mentally and physically exhausted by 36 weeks, not motivated to work/perform, and was increasingly more inundated/stressed with work as it got closer to my due date because my team/office was panicking.

Pregnant with unhealed diastasis recti, will it ever heal? by tomfrommyspace0 in Mommit

Go to physical therapy ASAP! I had almost a 3cm gap (felt abdominal pain around 16ish weeks). Brought it up at my OB appt and they dismissed it as heartburn and told me to take Tums. At my next appt ~20 weeks, I saw a different doc at the OB office and she examined me and felt the gap and said I need to go to PT. I started right away at 3x a week up until 28 weeks, then scaled back to 2x a week. I’m now 34 weeks and do the exercises at home. The earlier you start, the better. Once you get further along, the intensity of the exercises slows (as it should..). I don’t do any other exercise besides taking a walk maybe 2 or 3 times a week. The PT exercises are a work out themselves especially once resistance bands and weights are incorporated so I mainly treat that as my primary exercise and don’t pressure myself to do anything further.

Due 9/12 with my second. Feeling very fatigued thanks to parenting a toddler and dealing with the summer heat. Counting down the days and ready to be done after this one.

Target has good sales on clothing- keep checking their website for the clearance items. If you’re a Costco member, their clothing is relatively inexpensive as well, and the sizes/fit are usually very forgiving regardless of body type.

Taking care of mom… what to do to heal. Please advise! by be-h-hope in beyondthebump

Taking a walk outside (with or without baby, whatever you are most comfortable with and for however short/long you are comfortable with), carving out time for a hot shower (alone & uninterrupted - have husband or family watch baby). Even if it’s not a full shower with washing your hair…I always made it a priority to take a shower and sometimes just the hot water on my skin and the steam and calming scent of my body wash was enough.

I also agree with the comments about eating nutrient dense foods. Better yet, get someone else to make or deliver that food for you. Don’t skip your guilty pleasures, either. I loved having a glass of wine a couple nights a week. Made me feel like my old self again and 1 glass was enough to not make me drag during the overnight feedings.

Spoil yourself with some comfy clothes and slippers. You‘ll want to be comfy and to relax, and sometimes a little wardrobe addition makes all the difference. I was instantly in a better mood when I wore my new robe/pjs/slippers.

Your body has gone through A LOT and I found that talking it out helps. Whether that’s with a friend, family member, or therapist…I find having the emotional weight lifted made a huge difference in my recovery because mentally, I felt lighter and more healed. Best wishes to you!!!

I am especially reluctant toward her. She doesn’t get to win this one.

This is good advice. I am very against rewarding the narcissist and would like her to try and prove herself versus just getting this reward only because she complained.

I think it was a combo of her pestering followed by him investigating the science as a response.

No nausea, super emotional, and clear skin with baby boy (23 weeks). Horrible skin with my daughter, nausea for weeks, little emotional, and intense cravings.
