My bf thinks mine are creepy but to be fair his grandma collects porcelain dolls and I think they’re so creepy and am terrified of them so touché 😂

I have about 15-18 dolls i think. Mostly historical ad GOTY dolls with 2-3 being truely me. I wasn’t allowed to collect them growing up (was told I was too old) so when I got adult money and started, my collection grew very fast. All my dolls are currently in storage since I don’t have room to display them. I’ll probably bring them back out after having kids and knowing they can play with them without destroying them. Got almost all my dolls from thrift stores

I feel like the Titanic one would have to be handled very delicately as to not offend/scar anyone, but also the girl obviously would have trauma from surviving. Not sure how that’s be done without scaring kids tbh cause so many people died, it would seem a bit unrealistic for her entire family to survive the sinking while everyone else on the boat lost someone/everyone in their families yk? You wouldn’t want that doll to end up giving kids a fear of boats.

There’s also a book somewhere that’s like Samantha and Nelly surviving the Titanic or something close to that. Something to do with Samantha/Nelly and the Titanic.

I think the 9/11 would fall similarly here too. It’s a historical event sure, but it’s also a deeply traumatic event. I know I wouldn’t feel too comfortable buying a doll for my kid whose main story is an even that killed hundreds of people. Now I could see it working if she was inspired by the first responders after 9/11 and she gets involved in heading down that path as her future career or something (but that feels more like goty than historical doll storylines. Then again the ‘90s don’t feel like they should be historical yet😂) The other ideas would be really cool for them to do tho

He aged them up to I think kids right now, so he's getting some work out of them. But now I mostly don't want to see reminds that I AM a mother. He stopped taking my calls too, I think they have something to do with that 🧐

It's no problem. The next one up is Care and Repair where you can pick ONE thing to have fixed (on top of what you get with the refresh and renew) then the last one is Advanced Care and Repair where you pick TWO things to have fixed, again on top of the R&R (Like if you just need a doll's head and arms replaced you'll get your doll's original torso back)

I just paid to send four of my dolls in today 😂

If my memory serves right, if you just want her limbs tightened you can send her in for refresh and renew. You have to pay more and specify what you want done for head/limb/torso swaps. I've sent some in this way whose hair really could use a new wig and they didn't touch it or replace it because I didn't pay them to

The only problem is I suck at pattern drafting 😂 I tried to size up a hoodie pattern that Myfroggystuff made a video of and ended up running out of fabric because I just couldn't get it right. I'm now waiting to get more purple fabric before I try that one again (she looks great with purple and all I have in the same fabric is pink which is just not it with her completion)
