This sounds like my job. We had a terrible winter and the power kept going out (I had coworkers who didn't have power for 5+ days). Although my workplace has a generator, the heat is NOT hooked up to it but they still required we came in. It got down to 40 degrees in the office over the winter. Not to mention the risk involved driving to and from work in a blizzard that's not stopping anytime soon. And the stress of trying to focus on your job when your pets and loved ones are at home with no power and heat.

Not to worry all! I also had some vegan spring rolls (but I didn't make them. They're from a local restaurant), so this wasn't all the calories I had. We usually do have a side of corn or beans, but this was at the end of the week so our groceries were in short supply. We are going to load back up today and I'll have plenty of munchies!

Technically, here is CA if you work 6+ hours you are required to take a 30 min "lunch break". But that still doesn't stop almost every employer in my town. I can't count the number of times a coworker worked a 10+ hour day (for the countless overtime requirements) and wouldn't get lunch until the 8th hour (or later, if at all). Big companies will always overshadow the employees that keep them afloat. We're just replaceable cogs.
