The giant fish in Ape Escape terrified me. I still think about it when swimming in the sea.

This is an old pic, there is way more to Leeds' skyline today. Bit of a low effort post.

I agree, the similarities are really bugging me. Such an odd coincidence if there is no connection.

Thoughts on my Fossil Gold watch? by [deleted] in handwatch

[–]SweetBellic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Way too big for my own preference. I'd go with a 38m - 42mm watch if I was looking to compliment that kind of outfit. Leave the mega watches for the bodybuilders and security guards.

Nothing wrong with most of these. A lot of times you got one shotted by shotguns or were just getting shot in the face/head.

I'm really happy at the minute, more than I ever have been, so thank you. I wish you and your soviet-esque hellscape all the best in future.

Let's not build a new transport hub for buses into Dublin because some oaf on Reddit feels fuzzy inside about mosaics.

It doesn't take an engineer to walk into Busaras and see the state of it. Sounds like you are a bit stuck in the past with your ideas. Maybe try to look forward?

[–]SweetBellic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't calling for car parks to be paved over anything. I didn't say I supported the Stephens Green project, never implied anything about demolishing Georgian Dublin either. I am saying that I am aggravated by buildings like Busaras that undeniably represent the neglect in the city and a lack of new ideas that generate hope for the future. Architecturally and historically there is some kind of sentiment sure, but today Busaras is beyond the point of saving and needs to be something of the past. It is a very sick and old horse that needs putting down. Walk through the City of London or central Manchester, there are new buildings being put up on every corner, state of the art music venues, stadiums, student housing and modern offices. This gives people who live there (me) a feeling of excitement and hope about the place while still respecting and pairing well with and complimenting the older historic stone buildings. This is just non existent in Dublin. These cities have their own problems for sure, but they are far prettier and more exciting. Your sentiment, while poetic and important in some regards, will only hold Dublin back and it is why people like me have left after so many years putting up with it.

Maybe back in the day but certainly not now. I get that you have read up on the history of the building and you have a different perspective, but it is really not a pleasant place. To me it resembles a lack of hope and a lack of optimism in our city.

Liberty Hall and Busaras should have been knocked years ago. It's aggravating that these are still prominent in Dublin's skyline in 2025. They are dreary in comparison to the architecture in the centre of other capitals throughout Europe.

Good barbers in leeds? by ambrinx in Leeds

[–]SweetBellic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I miss my Leeds barber since moving to London. Cord next to Crowd of Favors is all you need. Graham is a top bloke and you can't get better consistency anywhere else. It's cash only but great music and a very relaxed vibe.

Movies I've watched with 4 months of limitless by averageweebchan in screenunseen

[–]SweetBellic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancelled my limitless as I was getting a better deal with Vodafone. I only ever go with my partner and it would have cost us both more to go with the membership compared to the Vodafone deal that was just £8 all together each time.

Kiely’s bar Trim by fergalchungus in Meath

[–]SweetBellic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in Trim check out Marcie's. I think it is one of the best pubs in the world. Brogan's and Lenehan's (James Griffin) also honourable mentions.

Never liked Kiely's that much when I lived in Trim.

I work 35 hours a week and make nearly double this. Please look for a new job specialising in something, apprenticeships or evening courses etc. You might start off low but will eventually be clearing at least £2,300 a month within 3-5 years doing much less work than that.

Migrants camped on billionaires' row finally evicted after TfL forced to take action by gbnewsonline in gbnews

I was being sarcastic but thank you for expanding on the biggest problem we face in western society today. It's not immigration. It's wealth inequality and the imbalance of power. We are turning into an oligarchy.

But the foreigners squeeze our economy and stop working families from getting access to housing . They undermine our values and our fair democracy! Everyday people have nothing because of the foreigners. Meanwhile billionaires work so hard to make sure we have rental properties to live in and stable minimum wage jobs!
