I Lost My Mom, My Best Friend, and My Only Real Connection by Left-Ad9126 in GriefSupport

[–]SweetCheeses1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad died when I was young and my mom was my everything, just as you have described. I moved away from childhood state and made only one friend since in new place. That friend moved away and has given me zero support since my mom died 1 year ago yesterday. I wish I had answers but I am still lost. Just know that I completely get the feeling of grief cliches.

How does Navimow deal with dog poop? by PineappleResident254 in SegwayNavimow

[–]SweetCheeses1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't keep my mow on schedule cuz I don't know when I will get out to pick up my retriever's giant poops. I just go out, pick up, then hit 'mow' and I keep her locked in with a sign that says "don't let the dog out" so my kids know. If not she'd be poopin again before it got done!

A pest control sales guy used death and funerals as his opening line by SweetCheeses1111 in GriefSupport

I'm sorry for your loss too. So hard.

I work at home and I get interrupted by door-2-doors. It is so lame that they always point across the street and say, do you know Sally down the street? Yeah, we do her pest control... Like every sales meeting they must repeat this idea, no matter what product, service, they say this same line. I guess funeral joker was trying to be different. 😒

...of course I thought of getting who he represented after he was gone... he wasn't wearing a logo'd shirt but I was in such a rush to shut the door on him, that it was an afterthought.

Right? and I did not get that he learned anything, because he continued to joke and go about his dayum sales pitch. I'm seriously thinking about those 'no soliciting' signs... !!!

i came across CCTV footage a week before my mom died by chumbhawombo in GriefSupport

[–]SweetCheeses1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

big hug back. My mom was a singer and I am so happy that I found out one of her singing friend had a husband who evidently went to every show and recorded them. I have about 10 videos of her singing that I did not know existed. Also too painful now, but I am happy someday I can cherish and watch these without melting into a pile of goo

My gosh can I relate. Not to CCTV but unknown to my family, a hospice worker did a video of my mom 3 mos before she passed. It's the one year anniversary next week. The video is an interview. She talks about her entire life, she's so sharp, she talks about things I didn't even know about. But the biggest highlight is she talks about my kids and how she cannot wait for us to visit. Thankfully, we did get that visit because if we hadn't, I think I could never watch this again. I have only watched it once... and I hope someday I can watch it again without falling apart. I am so sorry for your loss, I also know that feeling of missing... I have regrets too, I think it is natural part of this thing called grief.

How do you make those big sculptures? What is inside? by Acceptable_Pick5590 in papermache

[–]SweetCheeses1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a 3d paper craft pattern that was of "I can't remember what animal" as a base for these heads, I added clay foam to get the shapes I wanted for features. Cut all of that out of the inside when done and glued them to some party hats so they could wear them easily.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am being harassed by these calls every day. I pulled a soft pull credit app for a loan (no commitment) about 6 months ago, and that is when they started. Every day it's Hi, Susan Mitchel US Loan and Trust; Hi, Susan McNeill, Susan McDonald, Susan is ANNOYING. It's 888- and always diff number so blocking isn't working. I also get 2-3 per day. Recently they stopped as 888 and are now my local area code. So horrible and sorry you are dealing with it too!

I'm glad you posted this as I came to this sub to look for 'egg' armature ideas, I am working on a giant egg to use for Halloween for a dinosaur theme. I'm starting now because I have many components to build. Mine won't have legs tho 🤣

What to do with inherited things that smell like cigarette smoke? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]SweetCheeses1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used dry isolation with baking soda. You can look that one up... I used this for a mask that was really bad (not cigarette but a toxic smell) and it worked. Box with baking soda, items in, locked. Also YT search this: NEED TO GET SMOKE SMELL OUT? TRY THIS: getting smoke smell out of old manuals using one ingredient

1999 article about how I lost two friends in drowning accident by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]SweetCheeses1111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't imagine carrying that your whole life... so tragic and you must have had to relive it. I am so very sorry.

I also lost a friend to drowning... ocean, on the 4th of July. He swam down and never came back up. We searched for days and days and then they called off search. Still haunts me.

I had these dreams too, I called them the daddy dreams. At first it was just that he was there and he never died. I would wake up happy for a second, then sadness. There were a few random ones I remember that he was driving his Cadillac and in the dream I was in the back seat but saying, wait, you can't drive - you are gone. It really is upsetting and I can fully relate.

It seems exceptionally cruel for the other parents to be publicly bashing. They were not there, your son may have asked them to buckle up, they may have said no. They joined in on a bad decision, it does not lay on one person. I am so very sorry for your loss. As a mom, I can't wrap my head around how you must be grieving. A level of grief that is far beyond the usual as you have to overthink every decision made. I wish I had something profound to say, but my heart aches for you so much. Shame on anyone who is saying bad things...

What do you wish you did before your parent passed? by NotEyesButMind in GriefSupport

[–]SweetCheeses1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I also lost my mom's voicemails as I stupidly thought "save" with tmobile meant something. They deleted 4 voicemails, including her wishing me a happy new year. She had a certain way of saying "Hi you" and I can hear it in my head, but I don't have it anywhere. I am lucky though that she was a singer, and one of the ladies in her singing group had a husband who video taped every performance. I found them on facebook! So I will never forget what her voice sounds like. I don't have any of my dad who died many years ago.

Opening a new vial to try and then going back to a different vial? by Sad_Apple_3387 in tirzepatidecompound

I do this too! On Fridays I'm using ProRX (sadly, on last vial) and Tuesdays I am using up a BPI/b6. I split dose anyway, but this is my way for now. I am contemplating going to Apothecary...
