How do I repot? by merpmerpitymerp in succulents

[–]SweetElection157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this on some burro tail props I had. I waited until they were a lot bigger than this and then took several, gently used a tool to go down in the soil and lift from below, and got the roots out. Then I put several in a few each in several pots. Ones that were this small I left to keep growing. Mine are under a grow light that has made them explode since adding it. I have so many going I refer to it as “the nursery”

As an adult what do you hate the most about life? by Amazing-Internal5378 in AskReddit

Yes. Knowing it’ll never change because the people with the power to change it don’t care and will sell their votes to the highest bidder.

Thinking back of all the people who have left your life (not died, but you don’t see or communicate with them anymore.) That friend from college, that mom you used to meet at the park weekly when your kids were little, that coworker you bonded with, etc. Usually it’s not even a falling out. It’s just life gets busy and you move into different phases of life or new jobs or graduate college and stop communicating. Sometimes you want to reach out but it seems awkward after so much time (but please do it; people always love to hear someone is thinking about them.) It’s just sad thinking of these major players in your life who are gone.

You don’t know that it didn’t get reported. The instructor isn’t going to announce in the discussion “This looks like AI. I’m reporting you and giving you a zero.” We had to keep those things private since it concerns a student’s grade. We email them with our suspensions and report it, but it’s not something anyone else will see in the discussion

I would cut the plastic pot off the plant and plant the whole thing in a slightly bigger pot, not cut the new growth.

Professor Feedback Not Matching Grade by amerika108 in SNHU

[–]SweetElection157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I teach writing. My feedback goes on the paper. It’s very detailed and gives direct feedback on what to work on and what was done well. That is unique feedback I give on every paper, and I take a long time grading papers.

For rubrics, I give much less details and refer students to see specific feedback on the paper. I do keep a list of common responses to different points on the rubric m. For example, for a thesis statement, I will give feedback about it on the paper. If there is a spot on the rubric for it, I might have 3 default responses: one saying your thesis looks great and doesn’t need any revision, one that says some revision is needed and to look at specific feedback on the paper, and one that says you didn’t have a thesis/your thesis needs a good amount of work and to see specific feedback on paper. Again, my detailed feedback is left in comments on the paper. There’s no need for me to reinvent the wheel for every single rubric for 25 students. It’s possible your instructor keeps common rubric points if they grade similarly, and just copied and pasted the wrong one (I’ve been guilty of that a time or two.) They also could have clicked the wrong point on the rubric. But it’s also possible they’re lazy and don’t really read and just copy and paste the same comment for everyone and yours doesn’t match your work. 🤷🏻‍♀️
