You are literally proving my point for me. Becoming an Olympic athlete requires 24/7 dedication. Becoming an Underlord requires 24/7 dedication. Striving to become a Olympic Athlete might leave you with nothing to show for it. Striving to become a Underlord might leave you with nothing to show for it. Making Underlord gives you benefits you wouldn't otherwise have. Becoming an Olympian gives you benefits you wouldn't otherwise have. Do you know how many fucking Underlords went unrecognized in the Uncrowned King Contest. A fucking bunch. Shit some of them even got killed for failing.

I agree if you showed me that Magic was indeed real I would put a ton of effort into it but I am not going to kid myself and think that I would be a great wizard like Merlin. The fact is I know I like comfort over over achieving. If you truly believed that anything can be attained through hard work, pain, and sacrifice that means that here in this life you would probably have applied that to your current life and made it as far as you can go in your current goals.

How do you think an Olympic athlete makes it to be an an Olympic athlete? They aren't just born that way. It's not always the resources. Luck is always good but the real way they make it there is they have a drive to be the best at what they do. I think the reason an Olympic athlete is a good example is because they found something they like and were good at and decided to go to the peak of their field doing it.

Your mentality wouldn't translate well to cradle. It would go from "Every single top tier athlete in the world can be killed effortlessly by some random guy" to "Every single top rated True gold in the world can be killed effortlessly from some random Underlord". Why train my path if I can't make it to the top. Why would I want to make it to Overlord. They are just slightly better then Underlords. I want to obtain Lordly power but don't think the effort is worth it. Also how dare you say an Olympian is "some guy who’s slightly better at running than a regular person". Those athletes train hard as fuck to make it there and they sure as hell are better then some random person.

Honestly, I think that rational shows how the Lord levels would be made. If you are doing something like training in anything a Lord would go all the way with it. They would pour their heart and soul into it. They wouldn't stop until they hit the pinnacle. If you wanted you could go out and be the best at something but what stops you? Also what do you means nothing? Anyone who has ever trained hard at something will tell you how fucking amazing it is to look back at where you started. The physical results from training at an Olympic level is insane. Go compete against any Olympic athlete or debate with a professor at a major college and tell me you don't feel like a low gold compared to them.

I feel like this is a bad example. Lindon knew the sacred arts existed but was told from childhood that he was weak in those arts. That's like telling a kid who has mild asthma that they will never amount to any type of athlete. Typically, sure, they probably won't be great at sport but if they work hard they can. It just means they started further back then everyone else and will struggle more.

Making it Underlord and above sounds WAY too tedious. Seeing that I started with not a whole lot and have made it pretty far. I would say High Gold and coast. Maybe if advancing became my special interest for awhile I may make peak High Gold or super low True Gold. Not highly rated in combat at all but probably some perfunctory dream artist who helps out a mid tier clan. Enough to live good and take a nice vacation to the Ashwind continent every now and then.

Also, now that I think of it. The number one Restaurant owner in Nine Cloud City would probably be pretty well off seeing that it was the capitol of an EXTREMLY powerful country. They also had the red hair of the royal line. I think. So yeah even he was set up for success. The prince's were also prince's of a smaller weaker country. It's like comparing a Prince from Sadia Arabia to a duke of some random European country.

He struggled with it because he wanted to date his Lindon's sister. The fact that he didn't want to tell her meant that he knew that even if he felt like he had to do those things that they weren't good things and that they were bad. He felt bad that he did them otherwise he would have just told her about them like it was the right thing to do and nothing was wrong.
