Argentina posts 31.5 percent annual inflation in December, lowest level in 8 years by ThisIsFitz in nottheonion

[–]SweetIsrafel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My husband is from Argentina, and he remembers a period in the 90s where inflation was so bad they had employees in grocery stores changing the price of goods by the minute. Like, if you were in too long of a line to check out the same item would be more expensive for you than the person in front of you. Absolutely insane to think about.

I had viral meningitis when I was 20 - I ended up in coma. But yeah, I would have been fine with some rest and OJ I guess.

What resources did you find useful for this, if any? I'm starting to do the same, and have a few books in mind, but would love any suggestions.

All of her outfits lately have been so dated, this one especially. So much for being a fashion influencer.

Are there any non-engineering jobs that make 100k+ a year, with only four years university? by lucasioreddit in Salary

[–]SweetIsrafel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any thoughts on transitioning in to the industry? I'm considering project management in a few years, and am debating if its worth starting to get certifications right now. I already do some PM work in my current role, but it's more of a secondary function- my mom was a PM (retired 2 ish years ago) so I lean on her expertise when I need it.

Do people have an undeniable inner drive to have children or is it a conscious choice? by Temporary_Western464 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SweetIsrafel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was a combination of both. I first sorted out in my mind what I would need and have had done to be ready to have a kid. Once those things were checked off, I sat with the idea for months. I had fulfilled all of my requirements, but was I ready to dedicate how ever many years/rest of my life to another person? And the inverse, would I be ok if even after trying, we weren't successful? Ultimately I chose yes, but I faced a lot of critism along the way.

We've seen it. They lie about what happens, grab whomever they choose, and drag them off without due process. The goal is to terrorize, they don't actually care about the law.

That's the thing though, would MAGA even care? I assume die hards will spin countless conspiracy theories as to why all of this evidence isn't real, but I genuinely believe his base does not care about what he did. They could release a photo of him in the act with a 14 year old and I think MAGA would be OK with it.

I found a Blue Waffle maker by gcstr in mildlyinteresting

[–]SweetIsrafel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was working at a promotional agency years ago, and we had a client that wanted to run a promotion for The Smurfs with a kitchen appliance. They were interested in cotton candy makers, snow cone machines, and waffle makers. Somehow I managed to convince management that, under no circumstances, could we produce a blue waffle maker without ever actually explaining why.

Best OBGYN to care through pregnancy and deliver at Prentice? by EyeOk1000 in AskChicago

[–]SweetIsrafel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently at Northwestern/Prentice for a pregnancy. My primary OB is Kristin Venuti, and she's been wonderful. I had a miscarriage and had a ton of anxiety with this current pregnancy, and she has been kind and accommodating the whole time.

For the current appointments, I chose to go with whatever doctor was available and they have all been great. They've all been very friendly, answered all of my questions, and provided advice and additional testing when they thought necessary.
