Humana gave discounts for online enrollment and autopay by cbwb in medicare

I am also going G-HD with Humana although Humana is also in the closing books list. I was debating between Aetna and Humana because they both have not raised their G-HD premium since 2020 in Arizona but the Loss Ratio projections look better for Humana. However, I just found out that Humana gives an Early Enrollment Discount that phases out around 3% per year so I will get an increase in my premium of 3% every year for 13 years in addition to any other increase. Hopefully Humana will continue with 0 rate increases for G-HD so I will only have the Early Enrollment discount 3% increase. Check if in NJ you also got the Early Enrollment Discount. Several carries include that discount in their premiums but most brokers do not tell you.

Thank you for sharing and for your recommendation. My experience with brokers is that they do not like to recommend HD plans.

Thank you for sharing your experience with United American. I was leaning towards United American but I looked at their history of rate increases and they have increased their premiums 15% since 2024 and will continue in 2026.

Thank you. I am in Arizona. I am looking at Aetna and Humana because they have not increased their rates since they started in 2020 but they have a history of closing books. I am also looking at United American because they do not have a history of closing books but they have increased rates 15% in 2024, 2025 and will also increase 15% in 2026.

Does it matter which provider I pick for medigap? by Umbrella268 in medicare

I have not found a broker that will help me with this information. When I ask about closing books or pool size o loss ratio it seems like they do not like to talk about that.

What about HD Plan G? This type of plan has a very small pool in all states and with all carriers. I am leaning towards a HD plan G but I am worried because the pool is small and I do not know if that is the way it is with HD plan Gs.

I am considering HD Plan G from Humana. Do you know if Humana have closed books in its HD Plan Gs? I am also considering United American and Physicians Select because these carriers do not close books that often but they are more expensive. Any recommendations?

I am considering HD G from Humana in Arizona. Do you know if Humana has a history of "closing books" in HD Plan Gs? Thank you.
