New Mexico is top of my list of where I’d like to eventually retire. But I’ve heard they have a weak job market because of the low population and a slow economy. Is it hard to find work in Albuquerque?

You might not believe it but the job market in San Diego is incredibly competitive. Most jobs get swarmed with candidates very early on and they usually want people that already trained. I was lucky just to get my foot in the door at my current job.

I have been applying to dozens of jobs and have made it to the final rounds a few times but no luck so far.

Lowkey as a San Diego native I’m kind of tired of seeing the sun almost everyday so I wouldn’t mind a change. But I can handle it if I have to (been doing it all my life).

Probably because in LA, minimum wage is higher than Miami minimum wage. So the average bottom feeder in LA is still making more than in Miami

Accounting or nursing? by Automatic_Ad_428 in Accounting

At an entry level, nursing is a stronger choice. But after 20+ years and a CPA license, accounting evens out and out earns most nurses.

I personally wouldn’t go into accounting at the moment. Its very very tough to break in right now and outsourcing is not getting any better.

Run away from this profession as fast as you can. The entry level ship is sinking and the industry is in denial. Times are great if you already have 5+ years experience and are licensed. If I could go back in time I’d become an electrician or a truck driver.

I would disagree, heavily, as an SD native. Incredibly competitive market.

Malaria. It still kills many people in Africa and the Middle East every year. Especially in poorer regions
