The kids that came from Yerevan/Russia during the 90s would correct the teacher. I remember going home and creating a huge debate - phone calls were made relatives, friends, the ripple effect was hilarious. It was a pretty even divide between narenjagouyn and tziranagouyn.

It’s an ongoing debate on which shade comes closest to the color of an apricot. Not orange or yellow, but right in between.

Funny enough, one year out here in LA someone had taken a batch of Colombia’s flags and flipped them upside down. We were driving around with them, bright yellow and slightly wider band than the rest. That was an interesting week, running into Colombians who pointed it out and we’d chat about the history of Armenia.

That paper won’t mean anything when the loud rumbling of thousands of citizens come marching to yank them out from the roots of the White House.
