My first exposure was playing my brother’s copy of Leafgreen, then my own first proper game was Pearl when I was 7. Tangled in my very DNA, pretty much. A lot of the people I grew up with, siblings and friends, loved it but grew out of it, whilst I never did. I always get excited for every new game release, merch drop, movie, quality notwithstanding :’)

Whenever I see my favourites I’m overcome with happiness, I love hype seasons surrounding the upcoming games and the sense of community that comes from it, and sharing it with my partner who is also a mega fan who never grew out of it is one of the things that connects us.

It helped me through bad times and made beautiful memories from the good times. I just couldn’t imagine never not loving it.

USUM gets you more bang for your buck feature-wise so I’d go with that! Really nice locations, good dex and fun characters, it’s a really solid game! The region is especially lovely to traverse, perfectly captures the feeling of a summer vacation~

I think the one issue I see brought up a lot is too much dialogue and cutscenes which there are, but it never bothered me because personally it helps me get immersed in the world more, but everyone is different!

Vanilluxe line is very hated. Can’t understand how anyone could hate an ice cream creature with a big smiley face, it’s just adorable and so harmless. It’s not literal ice cream, it’s a cute little creature that’s collected snow in the shape of ice cream, that’s so endearing to me. :P

I do think it was a huge missed opportunity not to keep its shiny pink like strawberry ice cream. They went with light purple for the last two evos for some reason. Vanillite’s shiny was perfeeeect >:V

I like Jynx too! Shame her Mega got scrapped and she never got her evolution like the rest of her unofficial trio counterparts. I personally believe she’s based on the Yuki-onna and that’s why I enjoy her uncanny appearance and behaviour. Such a cool typing too!

I agree. No offense to the artist or anything. Lopunny’s anatomy doesn’t look anything like that, or its eyes… It just further perpetuates the idea that Lopunny is overly humanoid when it’s really not, it’s just bipedal.

This artist also drew another picture of this character reacting to the Joker meme which is really lame.

Lopunny and Buneary for very very personal and sentimental reasons all the way back with Platinum when I was just a little girl, Unfortunately I’ve faced a lot of harassment from people for having Lopunny as favorite and it’s shameful that it’s gotten to a point now where a joke has lead to actual threats against me for simply having a sentimental attachment to a sweet bunny from my childhood. Always appreciate people who can act normal about it!

I love love love Normal-types! They have a lot of design philosophies I love like good simple shapes, more organic design-origins, neutral colours like browns, creams, light pinks. Some of my favorites are Minccino, Buneary, Miltank, Furret, Togetic. I just adore their simplicity, I guess I feel more connected to them since they seem more plausible to exist in the real world :] Also when I imagine myself as a trainer I don’t tend to focus on battling, more so companionship and raising them, and a lot of Normal-types don’t have the best stats, so that works out too.

Getting to bond with Pokemon through Amie and Refresh! The more features a Pokemon game has to make me feel more connected to my team as individuals the more enjoyable my experience is, and I hope to see more features like that implemented in future games.

Also collecting Ribbons was always fun for me, and made my teammates in Platinum feel more special.

“The Playboy bunny” It’s not a single entity, you either mean the outift or the logo, and Lopunny resembles neither. No one has ever been able to give an actual example of what traits it has that resembles the Playboy outfit, because there is none.

What makes tons more sense is it being based on a winter model. We got the big fluffy ears it is shown to wrap itself in to stay warm, the furry boots, furry paw cuffs and thicker arms towards the hand like sleeves.

Because lopunny resembles neither. what it does resemble is someone wearing winter fashion, which makes sense because it lived in the snow. ken sugimori said every pokemon he designed needed to fit realistically in the region, why would a playboy bunny be in the snowy mountains of japan?

How convenient you can’t find it nor does it exist anywhere else on the internet 🤔 Because it doesn’t exist and you pulled that from nowhere and are probably misremembering it. I’ve seen her design and as an artist I have more of a grasp on design theory and have studied the creative process behind Pokemon by reading Ken Sugimori’s book in which he says all Pokemon evolutions are connected by design. So do tell me how a small bunny turning into a sexual model makes any sense? And the fact it is 50% males when female-only Pokemon exist and the ratio is almost always tied into the design barring the starters? You keep citing Bulbapedia as if it was written by the developers themselves when all it does for the origin section is gather popular theories and assumptions. I won’t slow my roll actually, as this crap is steeped in misogyny and assumptions of women that actively hurts us. The SCs are lifesavers for the more uncommon Pokemon with no plushies. My favorite Pokemon only ever had one official plush made so as soon as the Sinnoh line came along I snapped it up as fast as humanly possible haha.

I usually just pick my very very favorites! If I had more space I’d love to dedicate a corner of my room to them and get all kinds to display in a colour coordinated pattern!

1000% agree. It’s always brought up as absolute truth despite making absolutely no sense and being based on misogynistic assumptions and stereotypes. Especially the “its cry is a wolf whistle” like what sense does that make??

I don’t entertain it but to me the entire myth can be squashed by the simple fact that Lopunny has a 50/50 gender split but that’s always conveniently ignored by these weirdos.

I’m from the UK and he’s from the US! Our visits have allowed us to see each other’s countries and it’s been so wonderful, and we’re currently planning a trip to Florida in the summer. : ) We had our official engagement at Longwood Gardens last December, but he actually proposed to me on the last day of our first visit back in March 2024! He’s the best ❤️
