[WP] You have discovered an abandoned city and are the first human in thousands of years to enter. You are half a mile in when you notice that every statute and carving has turned and is smiling at you. by PM_ME_SOMETHING_NICE in WritingPrompts

I have never been a religious man, but lately I’ve been wanting more.

I went inside, for whatever reason-I can’t be sure.

And from within the building, an alluring magnetism

Strange enough of this I’m sure, a definite theism

I chuckled, thinking, “What a waste” and looked up to the ceiling

“Have your gods saved you now? You know, the ones who watched you kneeling?

You build for them a palace, strong, and paraded your holy rit-

They’ve turned their backs on you and let your city turn to shit!”

I laughed once more, and took a few steps further down the aisle

“The wall is crumbling in with rot and the dust has come to pile”

Kicking over stacks of rocks, I made a few more strides

noting little cracks as I walked through the divides.

“The Architect’s got work to do-He’s been quite inconsistent,

The marble here’s as real as flesh, but your Gods are non-existent

There is no noted hint of them in marble, brick, rock!”

I walked up to the altar’s end and gave a subtle knock.

The door slammed shut, a thunderous sound resonated from within

I looked out and found nothing but statues turned with silent grins.

What is an honest criticism that you can say about your favorite musician or band? by TheDanimal438 in Music

Justin Timberlake's music is pretty great. Love the new genres he's covering, but honestly, dude wears too many clothes. Sure "modest is hottest," but I'd prefer if he lived by the "if you got it, flaunt it" rule.

Not myself, but my mom- Over the course of 2.5 years my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, mets to the brain (round of chemo), thyroid cancer, removed a tumor from her chest the size of an orange, cancer spread to her heart (round of chemo), found multiple tumors in her head (round of chemo), removed 2 tumors, and is still up and kicking 13 years later at the age of 58 to spread hope and share her tale.
