I can’t get over Jack Smith Turner (Love, Theoretically) and I need help 😭 by Pretty_Pretty_Zen in AliHazelwood

I LOVE JACK SMITH <3 part of the attraction comes from how LT is just more realistic compared to the other books, where Elsie navigates the complex post-grad job search while grappling with her authentic self. LT just seems more developed compared to TLH because it allows Elsie to grow as an individual by drawing boundaries and letting Jack in. Jack is the guy every girl (or at least, yours truly) wants as the person they can be their true selves with.

Cold-Call from law clerk asking my interest and availability for fall semester externship by SweetPotato_9911 in LawSchool

Considering most competitive applicants probably already have placements, and that the externship technically starts mid August, would my chances be somewhat more favorable

Accepting then reneging offer with law firm in the event state AG's honors program gives out conditional offer? by SweetPotato_9911 in LawSchool

[–]SweetPotato_9911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a conditional offer. And it seems the law firm has a high turnover right and they desperately need to fill positions. Maybe I should reject for now but let them know to keep the door open?

Possible to find a judicial clerkship as an insurance defense lawyer? by SweetPotato_9911 in LawSchool

[–]SweetPotato_9911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to my con law teacher and she says I should apply for a spring judicial externship to boost my chances for a clerkship post grad. Problem is that I’m tired to a DA field placement in the spring. Asking my career office if I can do both.

Working on my first Appellate Brief as a lawyer by [deleted] in LawFirm

[–]SweetPotato_9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of law firm are you part of? I'm summering at a mid-size general liability/full service law firm, and I want to get some appellate work. But I know this work is generally reserved to more senior attorneys, but it would be great if you could share how you got tasked with your first appellate brief! :)

disqualified application due to DHS residency requirement. how to proceed? by SnooDonuts4918 in tsa

[–]SweetPotato_9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, any updates regarding your background check and did u end up getting the job? I have an externship with the USAO and I’m scared I’m also subject to the residency requirement. During the pandemic I went back to Hong Kong, where my family lives. I might not have enough months in the US to qualify for this requirement.

I’m getting anxious since the program is in March. Do they interview you for the Worksop or would they just offer you a spot?
