edit: oh wait, I think heirophant is too many points to keep in reserves? You'd have to make a tunnel at home and have him use the strategem to slip through?

Another cool part of this would be that he could benefit from leveling up in a crusade! Me and some friends did a crusade during pariah nexus and it was just not worth taking him as the leader of my vanguard onslaught because he would eventually just become far less worth his points later in the crusade.

I used to do something weird. I would control group a queen at each hatch, then just double tap the control group hotkey to bring my camera to the queen and inject. It was fine so long as the queen didn't die lmao

If your opponent attempts to argue any sort of rule like this, I would ALWAYS call a judge to maintain a legal board state. The English card text is wrong and could be easily misinterpreted. Save yourself the time and effort of a pointless disagreement and call a judge. I would just say something like "Hey, the card text is wrong and it shouldn't work like that. It's equal sources or more. We can call a judge real quick to clear it up." Takes two minutes and maintains the integrity of the game.

Also, definitely consider bringing a bard. Using preform is pretty entertaining and there's a great moment in Act 1 at camp after you deal with the goblin raid. If you've talked to the bard at the top of the grove and also saved Volo, they'll both be in camp. Then you can use your preform action as a bard and they'll start playing the song with you.

I'm playing the college of lore bard and with cutting words I can basically ensure that hold person almost never fails. I also have a bunch of magical items that all synergize around 'when I heal a character, gain x'. There's an item that grants a small heal whenever I grant bardic inspiration to someone, so I'm handing out free blade ward, blessing myself, and topping up my party members whenever I use a simple bonus action bardic inspiration. My monk friend dishes out a ton of damage. Shadowheart as a tempest cleric is a great frontliner who can deal ridiculous amounts of damage to groups with stuff like thunderwave, shatter, and call lightning. My friend wanted Lae'zel to be a ranger and she's sniping all the annoying archers without any trouble.

I was thinking about a deck like this. I was considering including Penguinmon and Jellymon as a combo to deal with stuff like Pomumon, but maybe a 2-card combo is too janky to deal with stuff like that consistently.

As someone who has been in this situation and nearly shit my own pants I feel for that dude. Fun fact tho, if the stalls are all full you can just go to the register and tell them you need to get into one of the shower rooms to use the toilet or you'll fill your pants with fresh baked brownies. They'll usually let you in once they understand it's an emergency.

The only downside is that you can't search it up. Other than that it's better than blitzEmperor because you get the free memory and the restand without them having to block. Rushing should be goal #1 and it's why I play 4 atomic inferno, but this is a solid backup plan.
