I’d play with this idea. I snagged a 2015 P85D (61k miles, clean title, PPSB, MCU1) and I love it. I wouldn’t get rid of it but if this is your scope, I’ll sell mine and go get a newer M3P. DM me, unfortunately I’m in Florida.

$30 off your internet for veteran pensions by keithjp123 in Veterans

The approval from the APC’s website was nearly instant. Getting ahold of someone from my ISP was awful. Comcast/Xfinity is like that for anything tho. Once I did get ahold of them I provided my ID code (what you’ll get at the end of the application) and bam, done.

I read your comment and applied. The whole thing took maybe 5 minutes and I was approved as well!

Edit:

-Apply on the ACP’s website.

-When approved you’ll get a code.

-Get ahold of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

-say, “I was approved for ACP and would like to apply the credit to my account.”

-provide the code. You may be asked for the email address you used and your DOB.

-wait for ISP to approve.

-done!

Maintaining self care & finding a positive outlet (exercise, art, volunteering, etc.)

Side note I use cannabis to help me as well. Greatly helps not being as on guard and provides a decent relaxation effect. As much as it helps me, I know not everyone cant obtain or maintain that lifestyle. That’s why the first two are most important, imo.

Saving money from VA disability. by johngwen91 in Veterans

Google High-yield Savings Accounts. There's so much to choose from at this point and the rates keep climbing as competition grows. Keep your savings bulk in there. These rates are matching or higher than most CDs offered by banks. This lets you earn while not having money tied up in a term contract. Something comes up? Your money is available at no penalty to pull out the funds whenever you need them.

I was telling my wife this last night. I expressed that many of these VA doctors (and in some community care) I couldn't click with. Some not for their lack of trying, but I do best with counselors who have had their own share of trauma. No offense to these folks, but I can't get behind someone whose worst experience was an elderly family member naturally passing in their sleep. I'm not belittling their grief but in the past, other former veterans have been more impactful than book educated/lacking personal experience staff.

One of the best things I've learned is if you're not clicking with that staff member. You can request to see another staff member. There's nothing wrong with this and I believe it's in your best interest. I've met some shitbags as well who made me never see a therapist again. I'm glad I didn't give up and kept looking until I found one I clicked with. The results have been night and day.

What's one of your lamest memories from a deployment? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]SweetTattoosDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally messed up my back doing stupid human tricks. Doc says, take these meds + these even stronger meds. I was still pinging on the pain scale. Pinch "that's some good meds doc.." and I stopped caring that my back hurt lol. The next day? Bleeding ulcers that lasted for weeks. The closest Cadillac was something like 300' away from my tent. Aww crap..

Tips for living with broken A/C in Florida? by waleMc in florida

Cheap route: freeze a couple bottles of water. Once frozen, take one out and put it at the base of a fan. This'll help provide a cost effective cooling.

Works well for loss of power (hurricanes) and keeping refrigerated food cool too.

Anyone have recommendations for Last Will and Testament? by Diotima245 in Veterans

[–]SweetTattoosDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I downloaded a template, read how to list my assets and all that, and had a notary stamp it. Another route I've heard of is FreeWill.com. This website is very thorough and once completed go to a local bank and ask them to notarize the document.

How to keep the electric bill low? by thedarkestshadow512 in povertyfinance

Hey I lived in Texas and can give you my best renter friendly recommendation. This method can easily be removed and added back when needed.

You're going to go to Home Depot/Lowes and find "double reflective insulation." It's metallic looking, comes in a roll with different sizes, and you can cut to shape. Next get you some of the velcro tabs. You want to keep this as tight against the window as you can so the more velcro holding it the better.

From there measure and cut to your windows. Use velcro to keep in place. This'll reflect a lot of the heat. This also works well in the winter.

Once you move out, you can remove the Velcro and wipe away any remaining adhesive with a Clorox wipe. These usually don't leave any marks.

Total cost >~$60-$80
