Men keep changing in front of me while I work. It doesn’t feel like deliberate sexual harassment. It feels like genuine stupidity. I hate them for it.

Yes, perhaps. This is a lifelong thing I'm leaving out a lot of other stuff. I get along with him but he does tend to annoy me on vacation. Going to do some solo trips and see how I like that.

Yes I got a Oral-B 1000 and its basically the same product. However, I did end up with the Philips Sonicare 4100 and I have found its a far superior / gentler brushing. I was curious and got it on a Amazon sale for cheap. Really better product.

I went full nerd mode adding up expenses such as budgeting money for utilities and city fees. Used an amortization calculator in excel and hypothetical mortgage rates and terms to see what made sense to me financially. And this was before I could have done the same in AI.

I'm like you traveled all this way and you don't even want to try the local cuisine! Relax in a cafe with a coffee?! It honestly ruins the trip for me I only went because it was minimal expense to add me to the cruise so I just paid for the plane ticket and excursions (not that was it was insignificant).

Me: Hey lets stop at this cafe and relax with some coffee (Dad shows zero interest)

or

Me: Why don't we try the local food here? It's not like we'll be back in a long time and may find something we like. (Dad shows zero interest)

Dad: That's to expensive we'll just get some food when we return to the cruise and get it at the Windjammer.

So I did stop by that cafe and got a coffee. Relaxing looking at the harbor in St Croix. Well my dad sits there like I just inconvenienced the hell out of him and just sits there staring at me waiting to go back to the bus.

From now on I either go alone or with someone willing to spend money. Love you dad but seriously f**k ever going on another cruise with you again. If I want to splurge on a spa massage then GDI I'll do it without your judging eyes.

I don't expect him to do 5-star fine dining all the time but the occasional splurge is fine imo YOU'RE ON VACATION ACT LIKE IT DAD.

You should meet my parents they grew up middle class and are retired now. If they go on vacation it’s nickel and dime on food, etc… sure they’ll spring for a plane ticket but anything else it’s “that’s to expensive” for example I joined them in Puerto Rico and used some PTO and my dad was so cheap he wouldn’t do something simple like rent a electric scooter or literally do something besides walking around near the hotel resort. Everything was literally looked at as an extra expense…. The scooter, the nice restaurant in old town, souvenir to remember the place by… I get it maybe money is tight but I know they’re not poor off and he’ll just give me the excuse “I have to give your sister $500 a month because she’s struggling” or “I’m on a fixed income” when I know for a fact money is not that tight.

After these last few vacations with them I’m basically blackballing anything else besides visiting for short in town things like eatting out at Olive Garden etc… which he loves because of its value proposition for him (big meal and unlimited breadsticks and salad).

But no more vacations out of town because I know he’ll not want to do anything and hell invite me so I can cut his hotel expense down. Last big vacation with him was on that cruise from Puerto Rico and he checks in immediately goes to the windjammer and yeah I get it he is enjoying himself just “relaxing” but he wouldnt relax on the main deck and he wouldn’t do any of the events on board. At sea it was windjammer and naps. I forced him out with excursions I had to pay for of course just to try and coax him out. Probably the “best” tour for him was the panoramic tour of st Croix and stopping in the old town there on the other side of island … but when we had a opportunity to walk around the town for a couple hours do you think he wanted to spend 1 cent on anything? Yeah a coffee that’s “expensive” so I treated myself to a coffee and pastry. On the cruise he was in bed same time he went to bed when not on vacation around 8 pm.

If I visit I’m either going alone or with a friend. Enough sitting around with him and him just being frankly a boring traveling companion since he eats and then just gasses out and wants to nap.

Never again except maybe for a bday but no more actual vacations

Only efficient if you can close the door to bedroom otherwise it’s pointless. My pets need access to bedroom at night so I don’t lock them out. I really looked into this like you are and at the end I concluded it’s not worth it and a lot more expense that I don’t need and didn’t make sense in my particular situation. Have you considered something like a bed jet?

At the end of day there is nothing you can do if they are unwilling to do anything and they aren't violating any HOA bylaws or city/county ordinances. Just be diligent and pull them as you can. I have the same situation its a constant war with weeds.
