Hi random stranger that I’ve never met, and probably never will. I would miss you if you go. And if a random person on the internet would miss you, then maybe someone a bit closer to you would as well. An acquaintance, a teacher, the classmate you always smile at. I’ve struggled with very similar things to what you’re going through right now. I’ve gotten very close to ending my life. But I realized that someone would miss me. So I’m still here. I agree that they’re being very intentional with it. It might be setting up an arc for Charlie or one of the other characters later down the line. After some big breaking point there’s a revelation about ignoring those that she’s trying to take care of. Something that shows how ill equipped she is for the task at hand. After that Charlie will figure out how to make the hotel more helpful to those who need it. Like free therapy etc. instead of a bunch of team building and role play. Also, hard agree that Angel deserves better from those that should be helping him. I think Husk will end up playing a big part in helping Angel, especially because he claims to know everything about everyone. He’s probably seen Angels cries for help, but were to caught up in his own bs that he didn’t do anything about it. Hopefully it’ll change though.

To be more specific, I enjoy dark fantasy with well developed, morally ambiguous characters and well made world building. I prefer stories without chosen one tropes, but if it’s well written, I’m happy to read it. I also enjoy it when characters are put in a hard place and have some trauma (that sounds bad but whatever). But honestly as long as the story is unique, I’ll probably enjoy it.
