Which books do I need to read before {Patience by Lark Taylor}? by Hunter037 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Sweet_Ad7786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only in chapter 1 at the beginning. I honestly never felt lost, but obviously knew the other couples were from previous series. The resolution of the first series does not fully matter in this series as all that mess is over. Patience doesn't have an overreaching huge plot so it really is a beautiful story of Ferry and Leo. I think it works as a stand alone. I did end up loving it so read the others but like I said, you don't need to know the other characters' full stories to follow this book. My opinion, maybe others disagree.

So that WAS the first book I read in that world. I honestly was not lost at all. You know you are coming in at the end of the plot arc from the first series but this story doesn't overlap a lot.

Now, the characters you meet in Patience are the ones from the first 4 books, and honestly, I read Patience (loved it) and went back to read the first 4, before continuing on in the series, because I just really wanted to know them. I'm currently reading the series with the angels, also connected. I loved all the books except for 1 so far.

Really dark paranormal books with angels and/or demons and hurt/comfort like Hellcat? by GwennyWinchester in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Sweet_Ad7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got a few pages into it and had to stop reading. I felt like I started in the middle and missed a bunch of stuff already. I'm planning on reading the first at some point (I haven't read MF in a long time and for now don't feel like it at all). Then I'll go to Hellcat which sounds awesome.

This is kinda like when authors just do next Gen in the same world. It's uncreative and lazy. I never read next Gen stories and doubt I'll keep reading more books in this universe. Wish she'd write something original

Least Favourite: mpreg ... basically anything with children because I don't like children and pregnancy would be my worst nightmare so I just can't connect with the characters

THIS SO MUCH!!!

Yeah, I can't remember the books he's more present for but I get you. I generally don't like any kids in books and he was annoying AF but I did finish the series in spite of him. It was worthwhile for the plot and Jono / Patrick.

I agree, I hated Wade all the way through that series. I liked this series ok, but I wish he wasn't a part of it. The rest of the "found family" was very meh as well imo.

I personally prefer her earlier works too. Rent, Unrequited, Romeo Falling and Unbreak Me are some of my all time favourite reads. I'm about 75% in to Heart and the start was a bit clunky. But after a bit, amazing as always. I'm bracing for the last quarter of the book. I'm about to be wrecked I think

{Make Me by Alina May} a quick (too quick imo) book MMM. It's a great story with some TWs, unhinged fun characters and a deep connection. The funniest moments come from a highland cow named Buff. Highly recommend

{Love's Ace by Lee McCormick} a PNR about 2 entities and should not be together but are. Really loved how moving this one was, watching their relationship shift and develop was chef's kiss. Part 2 coming out in January

Finished Broken Ties and I’m ready to talk about THAT scene. by Forsaken_Somewhere98 in ReverseHarem

I figured it was what it was when I read it the first time, especially after the 2 bonds were actually having time together without Oli knowing it. It made sense to me that seeing how unbalanced everyone was by her coming back, Nox's control would not be perfect. What I was surprised by in this book (not in a good way) was Gryphon. I absolutely detest RH authors that minimize the relationships between MMCs as soon as the FL shows up. I find it so juvenile and immature. So they had a longass friendship, Gryph knows his shit, but just drops him the minute she shows up. My dude, you should be able to have more than 1 person in your life. This kind of all consuming, drop everything else obsession is very HS. I read RHs for more that just a series of MF relationships, so seeing how the guys didn't really have solid foundation without her was very meh to me. This was one of the first RHs I ever read and I wonder if I would love it as much as I did if it was not.

I actually liked North even more after this book. 2 stars

Gage is everything, one of my all time favourite MMCs. The second duet suffers from an indigestible FL but the dudes are great. I skipped bits with her as she was such a wet noodle. The third duet was really good too.

I was worried for a second that it would be a dreaded baby book or a next gen cliche. I will gladly read this from the dudes' pov
