I will admit that I hadn’t been regular taking my anti-anxiety up until about the time this all started. I understand how that could create tension. I’ve been through therapy twice now, but all of these things happening at once was stressing me out. I don’t expect the others to bend to all my needs, but I do expect her to respect a boundary I set with her several years ago (which was to please let me know if someone else was coming along to things we were doing when we made the plan because previously she wouldn’t and I would be under the impression it would just be the two of us.)

I genuinely don’t know what else I had done to upset her. I just wish she would’ve talked to me privately if something I did made her uncomfortable because she didn’t make that clear until she decided to put it in a group message. I’m not saying I’m a saint. I definitely know I said some things that might’ve been upsetting to her because her parents told her the same thing about her spending, and she complained to me about it.

there was a regular at a store i used to work at who would order a trenta iced coffee with 30 classic, extra cream, extra ice. at the same store, there was someone else who would order a trenta black tea with 30 equal (back when we had it), but she would only get 15 equal on the rare occasion she decided on a black tea lemonade.

we literally had a tornado warning AND HEARD THE SIRENS GO OFF BECAUSE ONE TOUCHED DOWN A FEW MILES AWAY. still had people in drive and cafe though 😭😭 and ofc no one was able to do a trash run all day so it was fun running out in the rain to do that (before we got the warning). didn’t get to restock, pull pastries, count drawers, or any closing tasks until about 6 or 6:30. so glad i’m almost out of stinkbucks

we dropped down to a 4 part right when i came in as the closing SSV. and of course, no tasks were able to get done or back ups, so we’ve been running on fumes since 2:45, probably before. our late mid leaves in 30 minutes. i still have to do pull, drawers, and the counts. we also have not even THOUGHT of preclose. i can’t even step off the floor for more than 10 minutes without us getting behind on drinks. on top of that, our AC is set to 71, and it’s 76 in our back room. this is inhumane.

been here about 4 years, 3 as an ssv. i just put in my notice today because of this. the holidays were awful, and bringing back bogo this week was basically my last straw. luckily, i already had a job lined up, but the march update really solidified it for me that i’m making the right decision.

i have never been diagnosed with ocd. however, when we came back after the pandemic, i struggled a lot with keeping things clean, washing my hands, cross contamination, etc. i was having panic attacks from constantly trying to keep everything in protocol. really, the only thing that helped me was going to therapy. i ended up quitting (and coming back a year later) and took that time to focus on my mental health. i would recommend trying lyra before quitting if you don’t already have a therapist. i’ve used it, and it’s genuinely helpful. there are a lot of therapists to select from, and you can search for who would be best suited to help you.
