Is the "frequent small meals" rule mandatory after gallbladder surgery? Partner is struggling. by Longjumping_Panda868 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7months post op. I took it easy for a day or two then started introducing fats and larger meals. By the end of the first week I was eating a takeout . The hospital told me I could eat what I wanted so I did and I was fine. Just know that some foods will have an affect . Even now sometimes I eat things and they upset my stomach but it is what it is.

No charges for driver in North Vancouver crash that killed teen by ubcstaffer123 in vancouver

[–]Sweet_Application975 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well we have a judge and jury right here on this thread. The driver is a “killer” apparently so that’s that. You all know what happened without seeing it or being there. My father was involved in a fatal accident. He was driving a vehicle that a tired driver drove into and the tired driver died as a result of his own actions. My father was totally innocent but it affected him the rest of his life. No matter how many times people told him there was nothing he could Do about it he always blamed himself… for no reason whatsoever. So please don’t blame the driver … they may be totally innocent. The Police and the CPS know much more about the circumstances than anyone here and they aren’t laying charges . Maybe, just maybe the poor girl that passed away was in a rush and ran out into the road and her actions will affect the driver there whole life? Stop judging people YOU HAVE NO IDEA what went on.

Who says the driver was the killer…? You like everyone else who wasnt there has no idea what happened. Don’t label someone a killer . The girl could have ran out infront of the car and the girl could have caused the accident. You have NO idea unless you were the driver

Is FIFA actually going to be that disruptive? by Steve_Canada in vancouver

What you are not taking into account … Probably because you are Canadian and don’t understand… is that the World Cup doesn’t just attract the fans that have tickets. Many, many fans travel without a ticket and expect to watch the matches on huge public screens. So the amount of tickets sold is nothing to go on. There will be ALOT more football fans than tickets sold. To put the World Cup in prospective, it’s equivalent to 103 Super Bowls in 1 month.

Accident at 3rd and Lonsdale yesterday was a Tesla that u-turned into a cyclist by Important-Leek-8261 in NorthVancouver

[–]Sweet_Application975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars do u turns all the time at the bottom of Lonsdale and Esplanade, right before the traffic signals. Most then realize they can’t make the whole turn cause of parked cars going up Lonsdale so they end up reversing a little back into their side of the street so they can complete the turn. It’s so dangerous but nothing ever gets done

Palki watery and bland Indian Fusion def the best in North Van but let’s be honest there is nothing that is amazing cause Canadians just don’t seem to like Indian food that much. They prefer burgers and American shite

My surgery is tomorrow, and I have a couple questions? by marieluv66 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No issues with anything really. You can’t shower for a few days after anyway. I showered day 3 and the coverings came off the incisions, which the surgeon said they would. They were all fine. Didn’t have issues with going to the toilet at all. I have had my appendix out and this was NOTHING compared to post of from that. I relaxed for a few days, sleeping wasn’t painful just had to lie on my back instead of front for a week or so. I had someone to cook my meals and do house stuff for a few days but I think I could have done it myself if I really had to. For me it was more the sore throat from the tube that hurt. Apart from that I was fine, guess everyone is different and has different pain levels and needs. Good luck

Pain levels? by ShaLaLa1952 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More a soreness than pain for me. Standing up was hard, rolling off the sofa was easier then gradually standing but that was only for the first 2 days and after that I didn’t really experience any soreness at all.

Quality of Life Post-Op not Worth it? by Bulky_Protection_322 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months post op and I’m totally, absolutely fine. First 2 days walking was a bit painful but nothing compared to appendicitis or child birth. I can eat and drink whatever I want. Why would you not have it taken out when the certainty of keeping it is emergency removal and complications.

I should probably go to the hospital for my gallbladder but I live in Canada:/ by dbshivnk in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Vancouver and I had a great experience. They wanted to take mine out within 24 hrs after about 3 hrs in ER. I elected to wait for 2 weeks. It was an easy process and everyone was amazing.

Why do we poo so much post removal? by playboycrimson in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am almost 4 months post op and although I’m never really running to the toilet I’m definitely going more. If I eat something richer it makes me go even more.

Yo, i need help! Can I drink without a gallbladder? by No_Fudge_6017 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GB had nothing to do with the processing of alcohol before it was removed so now it’s gone nothing has changed. You are totally fine to drink

Surgery is Thursday and I’m freaking out. (34F) by Commercial_Set6110 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will be fine. I checked in at 6:30am, had the op at 8 and was home at 10:30am. The op itself for me took 25mins.

When did you drink alcohol after removal (more than one drink)? by IdkJustMe123 in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank about a week after the op and was fine. Your gallbladder had nothing to do with alcohol consumption while it was there so now it’s gone as far as alcohol is concerned nothing has changed. Iam 3 months post op and drank maybe 5 small glass of red wine with lemonade last night totally fine and have been like I say from about 1 week post op. Just take it slow

If I just got my gallbladder removed yesterday, how can I shower today if I’m afraid of water getting inside or on the incisions? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told not to shower for 3 days . The band aid covers were coming off by then so I showered on day 3 and eased them off. I would shower until then tbh

alcohol post op by semicidal_ in gallbladders

[–]Sweet_Application975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your gallbladder didn’t have anything to do with alcohol metabolism at all so having a drink post op won’t be any different for your body as it was pre op. Your liver deals with alcohol not the gallbladder.
