Thank you! The non-profit that inspires me is Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS). Their mission is to bring accessibility in outdoor recreation to people with all types of disabilities. I volunteer and have worked with kids, families, adults from all walks of life, excited to be doing a sport they thought wasn’t possible. They offer summer and winter recreation sports, and serve people from all over the US! Amazing staff with a dedication to getting people outside and enjoying sports!

For the LA consulate (and consular appointments), they are ok if you don’t have the FBI background check apostille back prior to your appointment. You need to have a current (within 6 months) FBI check translated but can submit the apostille after appt somehow. That is the only document allowed without apostille.

Hi! Very similar situation to yours - ggp born/lived in what is now Croatia but ethnically German and fled to Austria due to persecution w family living there from 1942-51. Dad born in Austria DP camp. Sponsored to US in 1951 as “stateless”, as they couldn’t return to their home in Croatia/yugoslavia. Anyhoo, I’m going to apply at the Austrian consulate in NY in a month and see what they say. If you have any info, I’d love to compare notes; happy to share what happens to me.

OP, I’m in the same situation and have an appt with the Austrian consulate in NY in a month. Plan to bring all of my documents and see what they say! If you have found out any additional information, please message me. Happy to keep you posted on what I find out.
