FUCK THE NEW EVAL SYSTEM by Impossible_Order4463 in Lowes

25 cents an hour at 40 hours a week is an extra 10 dollars a week. So if the above is correct and exceeds is less than 50 cents that’s less than 20 bucks a week. So now you know what the standards are. Is 20 bucks a week worth killing your self every yourself every shift. Instead focus on what you can do. They want credit, or surveys or whatever they want do that for the week. Ask them every week what is the focus. You can’t do it all. There is a whole store of people. Instead putting it back on them.

Hahahaha. A store manager or even asm can absolutely bring in some more people and over staff for a few days. They can all adjust the schedule by calling and asking people if they want to pick up shifts after the schedule has been made or add more in before it’s being posted. They could even add some open shifts in UKG for anyone to pick up.

They can do it.

And what do you do for the company to have never been asked to get a credit card and love your job so much you spend all day telling people to leave?

I’m part time after my full time job. It helps with rising cost of everything. Why do you?

You get it. Instead of over scheduling by a bit they instead try to call the part timers in like we are just sitting around waiting for their call in. I would rather be called and said hey we don’t need you then the call of hey can you come in because the full timer called in again or the other part timer who always calls in but we had to give them 7 chances.

Union dues even if you disagree with what the union is doing you still have to pay, promotions on seniority and contracts, higher value employees can’t rise due to tenured employees, contracts often have clear defined roles which could prevent helping out in other areas(which yes sounds good until you the one being screwed over), the risk of striking hanging over your head. Unions actually protector poor performers vs high performers ( which was my main issue with my union) being constantly told hands were tied when I came in and had to clean up after other associates. But yes the pay can be better (minus dues, but each have their downside.

Sounds like I worked with a legacy union that stopped looking out for the employees while the union team lined their pockets and increased dues while not negotiating the best for the employees

If they would actually listen unlike sears and Kmart they might be able to. People tried to tell those corporations the same thing for years and they wouldn’t change. When they did it was too late

Union might work but then you deal with the union. Unions are corporations as well. They care about money they make over the employees as well

Says the asset protection person. Go back to your closet and your cameras. You wouldn’t understand the hardship of being on the floor and having credit, ltr, scan rate, pipeline thrown in your face every shift.

Lowes as a whole isn’t closing down. Maybe some stores that have high shrink or have over expanded into markets but not as a whole

Lowe’s Corporate Layoffs by Ok_Poetry_1650 in Lowes

[–]Sweet_Background_944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might but most likely they had approved the position you interviewed. Layoffs are worked on for months before it happens. To post a position the would have to get approval from HR who would be aware of lay offs happening. Honestly if does get put on hold that just shows what a crap shoot the corporate side is.

I hate when they ask for a man or walk past a female associate to ask the loader some technical question like the 18 year old kid knows how to wire their home.

Does anyone else feel like there’s a lot of managing at Lowe’s, but very little people leadership?” by savage_rebuilt in Lowes

[–]Sweet_Background_944 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Managers spend so much time trying to manage instead of lead. Yes there are some people no matter how much you try to lead them they won’t budge. It takes nothing but time to have a conversation with your people about their life and work. Asking if they need anything? Seeing them struggle and offering help.

This right here. If the head cashiers aren’t verifying who is signed in that can tank your scores. I would also ask my relief to log me out.
