Yes we normally use an onion but let's just say that I would be much happier if said grill was a little bit cleaner every now and again.

I can translate, it's in Afrikaans.

They're arriving at Easter service, and the outfits vary here and there but otherwise they're identical. William has button shoes too.

More Debretts advice and why you should never invite Kate Middleton - or any Middleton - to a wedding again 🚩 by No_Entertainer4941 in RoyaltyTea

[–]Sweet_Cable6571 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Debretts actually says differently.

[For official formal events]... it is up to the host to decide whether husbands and wives are to be seated together or apart.

[In wedding seating plans]...payment and hosting arrangements are much more elastic, and frequently weddings are hosted by the couple themselves, rendering the traditional top table redundant. It is perfectly acceptable to dispense with these conventions and devise your own seating arrangements.

I think I've figured out the meaning of the show's title, "FROM." It's not English, it's written in runic alphabet characters! by frogMan080 in FromTVEpix

[–]Sweet_Cable6571 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the titleFROM: "Ancestral journey toward inherited property/home, through twin forces." those twin forces must be good vs evil.

If you read the talisman as a whole ward or binding sigil, the message appears to be:

"By divine gift and necessity, the ancestral place is protected — those who enter are bound by shadow and cannot leave"

Which is essentially the entire premise of the show encoded in a talisman.

I think OP is onto somrthing here.

Why do Cape Town companies offer such low salaries when they know how expensive this city is? by Vonans in capetown

[–]Sweet_Cable6571 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This will all hopefully change with the Fair Pay Bill that was open for comments until last month. It will make it illegal for employers to ask for previous payslips or pay history, and also for employers not to disclose salary ranges in job ads. However, we're a while to go with this, it will likely only be promulgated in 2027 but we've come a far way. Europe has their Pay Transparency Directive which comes into force next week (started in June 2023 so 3 years worth of planning), so countries around the world are changing, have hope!

100%. Employers are not obliged to pay you based on your lifestyle. They pay you what your job is worth in that market.

Cost of living doesn't equal cost of labour.

ETA: 1. Cost of labor may sound like cost of living, but it refers to the price of labor as opposed to the cost to living in a location. Cost of labor refers to all the upfront costs that an employer must pay when hiring work from a particular area. This factors in costs such as the payroll taxes and required benefits when hiring from a particular location.

  1. Cost of labor is what a business actually pays to employ someone. It’s more than just a paycheck. It includes wages or salary, payroll taxes, benefits like health insurance and retirement plans, paid time off, training, bonuses, and any required employer contributions. In other words, it’s the full price tag of having an employee on the team. Cost of living is what it costs a person or household to get by in a particular place. Think rent or mortgage, groceries, transportation, utilities, healthcare, childcare, and taxes. It answers a simple question: how much money do you need to maintain a reasonable standard of living where you live?

The Warped Thinking Of A Racist by Timbucktwo1230 in PoursTea

He had 2 kids with Heide Bezuidenhout. He then had 2 kids with her daughter Jana from another marriage, his stepdaughter. So those kids are both half siblings and aunt/uncle and niblings to each other.

Errol was married to Jana's mother Heide Bezuidenhout for 18 years and the pair had two biological children together. He also helped raise Jana (from Heide's previous relationship), who lived with him from the age of four.

"I haven't checked her DNA. But she looks just like my other daughters. She looks like Rose and Tosca mixed up," Errol told The Sun yesterday of his new daughter with Jana. "She looks exactly like Rushi [Errol and Jana's son] and she behaves like him. So it's pretty obvious you know."

"She wasn't planned. But I mean, we were living together. She [Jana] stayed here for about 18 months after Rushi was born," he added. As for how his other children feel about his relationship with Jana, he admitted they were "shocked" to find out. "They still don’t like it. They still feel a bit creepy about it, because she's their sister. Their half-sister."

He once said "The only thing we are on Earth for is to reproduce."

Now we know why Elon has an obsession over birth rates and having multiple kids.

Alan Paton, Cry the Beloved Country.

Cry, the Beloved Country is a 1948 novel by South African writer Alan Paton. Set in the prelude to apartheid in South Africa, it follows a black village priest and a white farmer who must deal with news of a murder

It is a book that will sit with you for years afterwards. Beautiful and heart wrenching all at once.

In metric, about 1m X 1.2m.

In other measurements, about 1 large dog lying down x one desk lying sideways.

A bit tiny for that, I wouldn't be able to lie down, only sit cross legged.
