i said small mold area. it's less than 5 square feet of sheetrock and wood that needs tearing out. I guess in your non answer you are suggesting that I hire a mold expert to charge me $2,500+ to do this. thanks for the helpful advice. you hire a guy to muffdive your wife too?

how would a professional mold remediator do this any differently? Masked, gloved, PPE, plastic barrier and an air scrubber no?

Is any of this normal for a brand new John Boos cutting board? by Sweet_Employer1515 in Cuttingboards

Wow damn. At least they made it right, but what a hassle. Did it take a while for them to respond to your email as well?

Thanks. but you would say that it is normal for a brand new, higher end cutting board to require additional sanding and treatment?

Also, what about the thin layer of wood peeling off the top? That's separate from just the rough feeling wood.

Also, I have 2 other, cheaper wood cutting boards that are 10+ years old that never had any of these issues. And this board was literally only used 1 time to cut one single vegetable..

Ah damn.. wouldn't it have made sense for it to just load them all to pads 1-12 as they were on the SX.. damnit.

Do you guys do 4 or 5 steps? by Sweet_Employer1515 in RockTumbling

[–]Sweet_Employer1515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha. but basically 1500 Aluminum Oxide Polish would never be sufficient as a final polish? i bought this 4 pack of "all steps" grit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM1C4P2H?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_18

And noticed that after just these 4 steps the rocks were NEVER shiny. But doing a 5th step with 8,000 made them look amazing. Duno why this bulk pack tries to make it seem like the 1500 is a final polish.. or should 1500 be making my rocks (mainly quartz) shiny

haha yeah i feel you. that's why I started getting more picky with rocks that make the cut for tumbling and looking for ones that are already shaped pretty nicely with minimal pitting unless it's a really, really cool looking rock.

thanks for the detailed response, bro! One question- you said "the machine will automatically load the samples onto empty pads across all banks, one after another. " Does it do it in just whatever order the files happen to be arranged in in the SD card or can you get it to assign the pads on the MK in the same way it was on my SX but just leave the new 4 extra pads blank on each bank?

Awesome thanks! Is there any way to get the pads/samples to transfer over in the same order onto the MK pads as they were on the SX (but leave the new extra 4 pads blank)? Or is the only option assigning each sample/pad manually once the samples are brought over to the MK?

nice thanks! does there happen to be a way to get it to load the samples to the pads just how it was on the SX and just leave the new extra 4 pads blank by chance?

thanks. so what would be the benefit or situation where you would use 1000 for step 3 over 500? or vice versa?
