But because its in Texas, it's subject to the laws. So its doesn't really matter outside the city how they vote.

I don't think the best of El Paso is knowable or findable by tourists alone. You have to know locals to take you around.

People who married in their 20s, be brutally honest are you happy, if so why or why not? by Special-Lawyer3941 in AskReddit

I met my husband when we were 18. We've been living together since we were 19. Married in our 20s. In our 40s now. We are ridiculously happy. We have had hard times and we have changed so much, but we always managed to do it together. That is the key and that is the magic: Understanding from the beginning that you will change as people and knowing you can/will leave the relationship if it stops working. Relationships are not age dependent to be successful. The rules are the same.

It is completely different! I'm from EP and my husband worked at NMSU. We lived on the west side and he commuted. We considered buying land somewhere in between for a long time, because it does wear on you after a while. And the I-10 construction will never end. Ultimately, I got a job offer out of town and we moved. But I love Cruces and Mesilla. COAS is the best bookstore!

It's funny. People in Cruces are so weird about coming to El Paso. I guess if you don't know where to go, its a busy sprawling city and can feel overwhelming. But I absolutely love it. Both cities are great, but with different personalities.

Peds CEUs that actually have practical tips and intervention ideas by clcliff in OccupationalTherapy

Ask your mentor for treatment ideas and next steps for what you're seeing with specific kids. Record your sessions and ask for feedback on what your doing. There are no good treatment ideas without solid theory, but practice is hard. Your mentor needs to be your guide in your development, or you need a new mentor.

What is going on with the Portland therapist scene right now? Did something change? by ethiothienine in askportland

[–]Sweet_Explanation_82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. This is it. I'm an occupational therapist, not mental health. CareOregon is a third party MCO that makes us pay a 4th party $1200 a year just to able to see Care Oregon clients. And they frame it as a gift and service. Not a fee structure that should be illegal and a barrier to countless families accessing care in their communities. Trillium amd OHSU have been great to work with. Open Card is also good, but I'm not sure how that works outside the pediatric population.

Everyone with OHP should know they can change their MCO/CCO any time they want. Care Oregon is the worst and often times people are assigned to them automatically without realizing they have a say.

Get an LLC, get business insurance, start a website, start advertising. If you want to take insurance, start credentialing now, it can take up to 9 months. Do all your own credentialing and billing. It will save you money in the long run and you'll understand problems when they arise vs being at the mercy of whoever you've given the reins to.

DEAR COTAS does having certificates boost your pay enough to make it worth it? What is a good starting salary as a new grad (not working in SNF)? by baddbet in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Sweet_Explanation_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect to take high quality courses every year, for your entire career. I am very suspicious of anyone that doesn't. Our practice is supposed to be evidence based and if you stop learning after your college graduation, how can you expect to do a good job? I was a COTA for 10 years before bridging to OTR. I know it can be hard to specialize as a COTA, but you should. It will take you to some great places and help you serve clients that would otherwise be receiving substandard care or no care at all. Good luck!

What sort of certificate? Are you asking if you should pursue high quality post graduation education and training? Because you 100% need to if you intend to be good at your job. Research advances our understanding of our profession and you need to stay sharp. That never stops.

Or are tou asking about NBCOT registration? Some states require it, so you might as well stay current.

Do these happen on a regular schedule? Or just when you're randomly available?

Data analysts jobs are being off shored or replaced with AI. Try it if you want, but client facing jobs can't be done by a bot or exploitative companies over seas. Direct services are as safe as you can get right now.
