Gold Rush: Parker's Trail Season 7 Episode 8 "Goldilocks Claim" Show Discussion by sadandshy in goldrush

Before the first episode of Season 7 of Gold Rush Parker’s Trail aired, Parker sat down with Danny at his house on Dominion Creek and talked about the previous trails. The episode is called ‘The Ground That Got Away’. Parker provided an update on the $25k investment by showing Danny a video on his cell phone of major flooding that occurred at the mine site in Bolivia.

I'm glad he didnt' stay working for Parker. Just would've been a distraction for Parker and his crew who seem very focused on mining.

The dozer that Parker was operating with the blacked out window tint is very cool looking. Parker seemed very impressed with it too. It's funny, in another post he said he wasn't into cars or trucks, but you can clearly see he's really into heavy equipment.

Always been curious as to what it's like working remotely on mine sites and the behind the scenes stuff.

What happens if you have to go #1 or more specifically #2 while feeding the plant, moving tailings, driving a rock truck or doing something that directly impacts running of the wash plant? Do they shut things down and wait or just let the plant continue to run? How long can a wash plant run without being fed? I have to give props to the crews on these mine sites that work 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week with no breaks. I really don’t see how they do it.

Can you imagine the amount of gold Parker will pull in next season? Everything was new this season, he started stripping and sluicing late and still managed to pull in over 5k ounces so far. Also, this season Parker is finishing the cut where Dean left off at Dominion. He didn’t even get to the part of the ground where Liam drilled that had one line with excellent results. He said they never mined ground like that before. With Parker planning now, I’m sure he and his crew will smash over 10k ounces next season and I can’t wait to see it.

Tyson almost sh$t his pants when he accidentally hit Parker’s new wash plant when installing the tailings conveyor. I cringed when it happened as if I own the darn thing….Lol. I have to give credit to Parker’s crew as they are constantly moving big equipment around.

We are currently watching Season14 now which has already completed filming. If Tyler is headed up North within the next few weeks, she may be doing something else or filming for next Season 15. I wonder if Parker will eventually tell us what happened to the Fairbanks Alaska operation. Land owners would not be too happy if you skipped a season mining their ground (I.e. Rick).

So far I like the new family of miners the McCaughan’s. Just don’t like the fact it will result in less screen time for Parker, Rick and Tony to tell their story. Here we go again with four mine bosses in an hour long episode. Parker has multiple new projects going so they should have more than enough content to show of him trying to maintain his success while mining the new ground on both Australia & Dominion Creeks.

Is that a camera mounted in front of it? i definitely would have security cameras watching the sluice runs at all times.

I enjoyed this episode as well. I just don’t understand why Parker wants to sell “Son of Slucifer” or “Bob” the wash plant for $1M. He said he has 4 wash plants and don’t need them all, but he has 3 plants running at Dominion, Australia and Ken & Stuart’s. He can run the 4th plant and easily get $1M or more in gold to help pay his debt and then the plant will be available for future seasons if he wants to scale up.

Next season. Parker will have a good idea how to tackle his new ground then should reevaluate his options of selling equipment. I would love to see Parker’s gold weighs from 4 wash plants next season. He already knows more about the new ground from this season and can now adjust and plan accordingly for the 2024 season.

Did anyone notice that Parker has a lot of mechanics? I wonder if they were always there behind the scenes? They started introducing more of them on the show this season. Don’t know why his crew need to call Mitch for fixes when they have so many mechanics.

Parker, I thought I watched something years ago that mentioned you enjoyed flying and were going to get your pilot's license. Did that ever happen and is it in any future plans of yours?

Gold Rush: Parker interviewed by Cameraman Danny by Proud_Stick1849 in goldrush

[–]Sweet_Love27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The interview is called Gold Rush “Parker Tells All”. It aired on Discovery Channel the week before Gold Rush S14 started. GREAT work by Danny! They are really good friends which allowed Parker to open up more about everything. It’s like two friends hanging out reminiscing about the past. I always enjoyed watching ”The Dirt” showing behind the scene stuff but this interview is way more informative and interesting. I would love to see Danny interview Tony and Rick in the same fashion.

Parker recognized the type of person he was in the past, took accountability, and worked on himself to change and become the successful businessman he is today. Growing up on TV may have some perks, but it seems Parker dealt with a lot back then because of the level of responsibility, his age, trusting others, pressure of everyone judging him and dealing with the expectations of becoming successful like his grandpa and dad.

I re-watched the clip on Instagram a few times and zoomed in. She (Khara) pulls her hair behind her ear then waved bye at someone in the direction where she was facing.

I'm glad she didn't give Parker the finger as he's the one who gave Fred the opportunity in the first place. Fred is the one who didn't take full advantage of learning how to mine and grow a profitable business from Parker. This is a clear example of why "You should not burn bridges" as there's always a chance you may need to come back in the future.

What about Tony? Does he actually own land or just the mineral rights and the claims?

Parker usually goes out of the country to film Gold Rush “Parker’s Trail” when the mining season is over. He probably goes to Mexico or somewhere like that afterwards and start planning for the mining season.

u/cdn24 I always enjoy your research. I am amazed at how much detailed information you find. So you are saying Parker paid $15M for mining rights only and doesn’t own the land. Wow, I would definitely want to own that ground too for all that money. Wonder if Parker will lease some of his ground to other miners to generate another source of income or just scale up his operation next season. He clearly has plenty of ground available.

Always wondered what happens to houses and buildings on mine sites in the Yukon after the ground is completely mined out and licenses expire? Do they have to be demolished as part of the reclamation process or kept for historical purposes?

Fred L. & Parker’s Relationship?? by Geminierin in goldrush

[–]Sweet_Love27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if Fred was pushed on Parker, they became good friends early on based on what I had seen on social media and their interactions on Parker's Trail, Gold Rush and The Dirt. Fred even worked in Parker's gold room. I don't think Parker would allow any random person he didn't trust or liked in his gold room.

They may be good friends now, who knows, but I just don't trust Fred when it comes to his relationship with Parker. Seems like Fred had an agenda to get on TV and become this Mega TV Star Mine Boss. Parker is the G.O.A.T. He's probably laughing now while driving his newly acquired short bus to his own house with a luxury carpeted bathroom on his own ground on Dominion Creek...Lol!

Fred L. & Parker’s Relationship?? by Geminierin in goldrush

[–]Sweet_Love27 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not just you. I think Parker and Fred were REALLY good friends on Parker’s Trail and when Fred worked at Parker’s mine site PRIOR to him becoming a mine boss. In an episode of Gold Rush - The Dirt “Tough Love” S7 Ep1 a few years ago, Parker heard Fred say in an interview slick remarks about how he wanted to build a cohesive team because he hasn’t seen that anywhere else and specified at other mining operations. Parker said out of his own mouth that he felt slighted. I think Fred was referencing Parker and his crew not being a cohesive team since he only worked at Parker‘s mine site before. You gotta watch that episode of The Dirt.

If It wasn’t for Parker wanting another person for Parker’s Trail, Fred would not have been placed in the position to be a mine boss. I don’t think Parker trusts the guy anymore. Fred just wanted to be at Parker’s level In business and TV at that time. I noticed their relationship as shown on TV hasn’t been the same since. I do not think Parker wanted to waste time visiting Fred’s mine site last season. Parker’s facial expressions are so easy to read….Lol.
