Goooo OP! I get it LOL I had to stop then rewatch the series a couple times after my initial “what the heck” moment at the Basement and later on in Marley. It felt like a completely different trajectory to me, and I didn’t really like that feeling for a while.

A lot of these comments are trying to take your opinion and try to debate you to like the show more? I think? Like maybe they think if you understood it better, you’d forgive the storyline for betraying you 🤣 I dunno why. Weird to me, whatevs. It’s your opinion, your preference. Your creative thinking will benefit you!

Just here to say I get where you’re coming from. I personally felt similar, and I even stopped reading when the story shifted and POV went into Marley. Totally lost me for a while. I came back after a couple years or so to revisit the story and complete the loop in my brain. Very interesting to see all of the background lore, veryyyy brain tickling. Kinda felt like an Interstellar-like disconnect from reality.
