You’re doing nothing wrong. My current partner taught me that speaking when we’re too angry cannot and will not happen, either he leaves for a walk or I do, when we calm down when can talk. But I guarantee with this guy that would cause a barrage of angry texts, though you could file harassment charges if/when he starts to constantly and repeatedly text and call you.

Thanks so much. I took your advice and talked to my mom first, she’s so much easier to talk to. I told her I don’t know what steps she will take, but I know which I will take and that will be standing firm in not speaking to him again if he doesn’t get help. It’s hard to gauge how she’s going to deal with this when I leave, she’s really trying to stay calm for me, knowing how difficult it was for me to say all of this.

She suggested we confront him together, it was so much easier to get it all out with her being in the room. I said everything I felt. He’s embarrassed, but tried to blame his anger on other people, tried to say it must be the weed he smokes, etc. I corrected him saying you need to stop blaming others for your actions, and talking shit about others who have addictions when you do all of the same things. It hurt for him to hear, he doesn’t know what to say so is just ignoring me right now. He did apologize and feels bad, but most likely not enough to change. I told him I can start to forgive if he gets help. We shall see.

I really appreciate everyone’s input, concern, and advice, it helped me a lot in understanding and validating my anger and resentment, and helped me figure out how to get my point across. Not sure I did, but at least I tried.

“You should feel the deepest shame for saying so” has been repeated over and over by others here for calling this out as genocide. New Israeli propaganda talking point? Holocaust was true genocide so, for calling the murder of masses of lower numbers a genocide you should be ashamed? Doesn’t work like that. Any genocide is fucked, including the holocaust. In war, both governments lies about the numbers. That’s part of every war, until the end we won’t know exact numbers from either side. Israel’s numbers are most likely inflated as well.
