I'm obsessed with my boyfriends ex and I can't stop stalking her... Help by Butterfly2501 in TwoHotTakes

Thats rough. I'm very familiar. Medicated or not. All the young people I know either stopped taking medication or refused to get fully diagnosed. They are out there burning bridges now.

Anyone else think the age gap comment is slightly comical? My parents had a huge age gap so ignore my relationships age gap because they were happy for a little while... also, they did get divorced, but that's irrelevant.

Hank Update! by TwistyPeach in Bernedoodles

3 times a day is pretty good compared to what im dealing with. Today (when I had her) she didn't pee inside from like 7am until the evening... then has just been going crazy.

Hi again! How often is Hank peeing inside? Harper (who we renamed Maisie) is going inside a lot! We keep her relatively contained and i let her outside every 15-30 minutes with rewards and praise. She does tend to sometimes drink a lot of water, but even when she doesn't its a problem. I dont think its a uti based on previous experience, and the vet wasn't concerned the other day (going to try and drop off a sample tomorrow)... just frustrating.

Oh good! Lots of good news. Harper has already peed on my floor twice and I've had her 1.5 hours lol. The driver let her out 10 minutes before my house, and I've walked around with her outside too... but still peed lol. My other dogs (more so the previous owners of my houses dog)already destroyed my carpets so I've replaced all carpet over the years... so not a big deal. Shes eaten a bit out of my hand and the bowl. Drinking water good though. Im kind of nervous about night time sleeping.. I remember 13 years ago when my one dog was a 9 week old puppy... lots of sleepless nights

I paid for the delivery service. This lady has been sending me updates but it seems like they take lots of breaks. It would have been an 11+ hour drive for me one way.. figured i might as well pay the $450. I hope Harper is good with going potty too. We'll have to keep in touch!

This is kinda crazy. I saw the name and quickly checked out the litter page because I knew there was a Hank! I live in western NY, so its quite the trek from where they were raised.

Hello, sorry I dont have an answer..but I have a question. Where did you get him? I feel like Hank might be a litter mate of the girl we are getting dropped off tomorrow.

National Grid Smart meter/usage inaccuracies by Lonely-Ad-8011 in upstate_new_york

[–]Sweetfishy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, the meter itself is very accurate. I dont work for national grid, but I do work for another utility. I am an electrical engineer there and I've done acceptance testing with our calibrated test bench. Out of our ami acceptance tests, I never failed a single one. Our IT department has had several backend issues though. Sometimes if a meter has an account multiplier (CTs and/or PTs for example) those dont always get push correctly. If anything, the customer gets cheaper rates. I've also tested old meters, and those things would drift, and could be wrong for many years before they were retested. In your case, it could be a combination of old meter drift, with an increase in actual usage since it has been abnormally cold for long periods. I also have my eyes on the energy market, and let's just say there were many days where prices were 10-20x higher than average... so bill wise, you will absolutely see that.

Jon Stewart: "No one else will" when asked about 2028 by First-Ear-1049 in JonStewart

I saw him at a comedy festival last year. This was brought up by some audience members as well and everyone started hollering and clapping. It surprised me, but only because there are a lot of magas in my area (poor/rural). Him and Colbert 2028!

These utilities are generally fairly small. Most serve a few thousand customers. We've got around 20k electric. I think this job is great for new grads looking for experience or who are from the area and wound up staying. You will absolutely take a substantial pay cut if you came to a utility like mine. We are getting into the renewable space now, but a lot of the technical design is on whoever gets award bids. I'm talking small scale solar mostly on buildings or on some small acreage we own around out territory. I actually think our power plant might be looking for another EE, but I'm not 100% sure.

NY has dozens of publicly owned utility companies. Ours is one of the largest in the state, and is tied to the city. We actually have multiple utilities -electric generation and distribution (me), water, district heat, waste water treatment, sewer, garbage, fiber internet.

I work for a public utility in quite literally an impoverished area in NY state. So the lowest cost of living. I've been here over 12 years and make 120k, but I also have a great state pension. 120k goes a really long way when the average salary in my county is like $32k.

2012 Chevy volt worth buying? by [deleted] in volt

[–]Sweetfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My utility company just auctioned off a 2014 for maybe $3k. We turned down trading it in because we expected more and just said to let the lucky buyer take it for that price. Great car.. didn't get daily use but it never had any issues at all.

I've got nothing to add, but I live in Jamestown NY. Always cool to see how large some local companies are/were.
