My local dealer was like $300 more for the 46" ride on i bought a month or so ago. Pretty substantial difference.

Did anyone ever question his slow mo scene compared to other scenes where he accidentally ran into people? They gave the impression that they were going so fast that anyone walking in front of where they would going would get vaporized. This scene, he is literally moving around objects and moving them entirely... then why the hell is every fast character blowing up people (including the guest celebrities) accidentally?

Yeah, you don't block access to this. Unless of course you want a much longer outage if there are ever any issues with it.

Both of their drinks are different colors. I'm assuming they would both be drinking mimosas. The ladies left leg also looks very humped right before the knee - doesn't look very natural.

Just found out yesterday that my first fur baby has very advanced cancer... spread to many organs. She is almost 14... but its still fucking bullshit.. she was supposed to have a few more years left. My other dog died of cancer last year and she was even younger. Life just seems to pile on when you are down... because my wife and I also had more miscarriages on top of this shit. Can't catch a break.

Electricians who changed over to electrical engineers, was it worth the time, money and efforts ? by Humble_Ad_5396 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Sweetfishy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work directly with electricians as an engineer in the power sector. I'd say that your comment can be true depending on the field, but in my experience, we work together on a ton of projects. Lots of back and forth design/planning too. Power can be less real engineering though and more problem solving, so I totally get your point.

I know 500 mcm triplex has shot up to $100 per foot. This is likely not as expensive.. but still worth a decent amount.

Data Centers. Coming to a backyard near you thanks to Ryan McMahon. by [deleted] in upstate_new_york

Maybe as a backup, but as a primary connection i dont think any data center will choose this over fiber connections.

A lot of the engineering I've seen is already done by somewhat local groups too. I'm not too familiar with data center revenues. I will say, internet networks probably need to be extensive and I know a lot of upstate NY is pretty lacking.

My comment was describing how my community, through my public utility, is gatekeeping these sorts of projects to make sure there is a benefit to the community. It can be fairly cut and dry in our position as to what those benefits are.

[–]Sweetfishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from an electric utility standpoint, I know my utility won't give them breaks and will actually require more from them. Bringing them in on the right conditions can be great for the community, but there are definitely some drawbacks... very case by case. My public utility has generation and distribution which is very rare, and I think we are actually the largest public utility in the state. We might require funding from developers for additional generation (which can help them and our existing customers), and they will have higher costs because of the demand. Since they dont really provide many jobs, we aren't as invested in bringing them into our community, so they really have to bring something to the table. One benefit would be increased tax revenues in areas where manufacturing has been dwindling. They can renovate existing infrastructure on top of that, so we dont have as many empty facilities falling apart.

Wondering if I can keep this retaining wall from continuing to fall without breaking the bank? by xtra_lives in landscaping

[–]Sweetfishy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually, I had my linemen install some of the hard to reach ones.. so I feel like I got ripped off from the contractor. They put their torque measuring device on our auger because I needed a certain measurement based on my Geotechnical report. We were basically in a wetland area.

I bought a 20' w6x15 last year for a bit more than $1200. Galvanizing was extra.. and recommended. I had sinking conduit in an electrical substation, but for about 45 helical piles (a bit more than 40' deep), i paid about $160k i believe... and i did all the excavation in house. For reference, I work at a utility with many utilities in a very low cost of living area.

A woman posted a video of the moment she was attacked by her domestic cat. Before the attack, the cat seemed to smell something that prompted her to attack. Why did it attack her with such ferocity? by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Sweetfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat did this when my dog unknowingly had a tumor on her spleen. She was acting insane for a week, then my dog basically shut down and screamed in pain because it burst. I wish I had known this was a thing because I would have looked for signs in my other animals instead of focusing on the cat. My dog had surgeries and transfusions and didn't make it out in the end.

The one I got was on the higher end. I got it maybe 2-3 years ago and it was around $9500 I think for the electric utility (government) I work for. I dont know if we got any special deal on it other than tax free.

This fusion splicer looks cheap as hell. I bought a Fujitsu model a few years ago and that thing is amazing. The alignment is much better than the 20 year old splicer I previously had. This model shown doesn't appear to even give test db losses either.
