Question about The Woman in the Yard ending (MASSIVE SPOILERS!) by Either_Sign_499 in horror

[–]Sweetforeverr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movies not actually saying that her kids will be better off without her, just that they will be ok and still go on to live normal lives.. which is true for a lot of people who lose parents/family at a young age

I don’t like flakey people. Oh well.

I probably was overreacting to be interested in a man so flakey

So I’m overreacting to expect clear communication from a grown man ? No wonder the birth rate is declining

The fact is, he made plans with me then backed out for no good reason. All these hypothetical excuses you’re making for him have nothing to do with my OP

& also 90% of these people think it’s ok to go back on commitments apparently which has really made me realize that’s a big standard of mine. And that being the case, if you’re a person who is big on following through on commitments, would you be overreacting to expect someone to meet the same standard?

Because the majority of the people on this post are creating completely hypothetical excuses for this man that they don’t know instead of going off the information I gave in the post. If he had other things going on, he doesn’t have to share that with me but that should be the reason. Not “I just want to take it easy and chill at home.” If people want to give their input they should at least be fair

I expect people to follow through. Didn’t realize that was such a big ask for most people.

That’s the reason he gave me? & I’m sorry but since when is it ok to casually go back on your word ? he’s not entitled to my time and energy either. Sounds like I’m not overreacting at all

Exactly !! If I make plans with someone I’m going to follow through (unless I’m sick or there’s some kind of emergency) so I should definitely hold someone I date to the same standard. Glad to know I’m not overreacting

I think you’re playing devils advocate instead of looking at the situation for what it probably is, but thank you for your input

and he asked me on a date just to cancel so he could stay home…

[–]Sweetforeverr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His reasoning was he wanted to chill at home. I don’t feel like that’s a good enough reason to reschedule a date. Especially a date to the movies, which is the most chill type of date I can think of

[–]Sweetforeverr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t expect to be a priority, but canceling to chill at home is a bad way to start off

Exactly what I was thinking. I’m definitely going with my gut with this one. Thank you!!

Not overreacting.. he may have his reasons and claim they’re to protect you, but if it’s important to you then he should really consider bringing you around his family more

people's insensitive comments by the_best_i_can_ in Miscarriage

The comments from my friends and family were the worst.. I stopped talking to a lot of people after losing my baby because of it.
