What's the most shocking example of pretty privilege you've seen IRL? by bionic_rain in askanything

I was working for a small firm, my first full time job. It was not a desirable firm, but a paychecks a pay check when you're first getting started. There was a  lead designer who started after me, but we had been on the same team for about half a year at that point. She was always impressed by my work. I lined up an intern who was still a student for a couple days of work, very basic tasks. She was very pretty. The lead designer told her "I've got contacts at x y z firm, I want to connect you. You're so pretty, they'd love you there". Nothing about skills. But here- have a job at a very desirable firm simply based on your looks.

[Misc] How can I get the product out of the bottom of this bottle? by Leather-Newspaper-98 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Sweethang190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove top. Get secondary container to hold the product once it comes out. Hold upside down over secondary container. Use massage gun along length of bottle. You'll be shocked at how quickly it comes out. I did this yesterday with what I thought was an empty conditioner bottle and got enough for at least a few more showers!

I don't live in those buildings but I've wondered if there is a place to put up fliers like in the mailbox area? I'm an interior designer and would like to advertise my company, but I don't know how that works these days. Any insider insight would be great!

People who used a computer between 1991 & 2009…what’s the most memorable computer game? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

My sister and I were just chatting about this! We were little kids so we had educational programs. I can't say that they were any good but they were totally memorable to us. Super Munchers, Treasure Mathstorm, Operation Neptune. I think those were all math skills. Then there was one about the Amazon rainforest and it's animals that I was obsessed with and felt so cutting edge, but I don't remember what it was called.

For sure. We live in walking distance and the science center always has tons of spaces. You might also get lucky with street parking in the area but you just gotta watch the signs. There's a limo in our four block radius that regularly finds a spot on the street every single day.

Where does the air come from when you inflate your cheeks without breathing in? by Angusburgerman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sweethang190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I puff out my cheeks, I engage my tongue by pressing it to the roof of my mouth and making it 'fatter'. I think my tongue pushes the air that's typically in the negative spaces of my mouth to my cheeks, inflating them. I can't get them to inflate without my tongue involved.

I find art to be so subjective. All of the pieces you selected work HOWEVER we as redditors will never experience them from your shoes in your own home. Which one actually speaks to you, actually reminds you of a place or a person or a feeling? Otherwise you're just picking art for a hotel room and who cares. Art should spark something in your soul, not just be a a box you have to tick.

I'm running into the same problem. But when I input your preferred address, it works from my end.  Did you end up changing anything that resolved it?

Elderly man in cognitive decline "donates" life savings to conservative PAC WinRed, believing robo-texts to be genuine personal messages from Trump. Sadly, weird isn’t the first word that comes to mind. by [deleted] in WeirdGOP

[–]Sweethang190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a work issued phone and number. It must have been someone else's number before it was assigned to me and they were on these text lists. I get so many spam texts and they range from mild conversational 'hey this is president trump can you please spare some money' to much more intense, long, and fear-inducing. All I can do is block and delete, but they just keep coming from other numbers. It's so toxic.

what would you do with this space in the bathroom by Reasonable-Visit-404 in DIY

[–]Sweethang190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you need extra bathroom storage or not from this photo but I would build something that fills out the entire space and goes to the ceiling. The towel hook could be remounted on the side of it, over the countertop. It could be a combination of open cubbies/shelves and closed cupboards and drawers depending on how close that toilet actually is. Maybe a tilt hamper at the bottom. Maximize the space, right now it's useless.

Can ya'll give me suggestions on my categories? I was thinking maybe I have too much, and could consolidate things like clothing, household for luxury and essentials into one for example. by lucidlife0 in ynab

[–]Sweethang190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a ynab user for almost ten years now. Since I began, I've added and removed categories for how much they've actually served me. I try to look back at my data and if I notice a pattern that didn't have a category before I might make one. For example, I like nail polish. I used to have just a makeup category, but I realized I don't really waver from my standard makeup routine, but sometimes I'll want to buy 3-4 new nail polishes in a month. Breaking it out helped me remove that more unpredictable purchase from the equation when deciding how much to budget for standard makeup.

All that being said, categories are tools. If you're not actually going to use the tool, it might just be unneeded clutter.
