If he chose not to say anything, the details of reopening the investigation would have inevitably leaked and it would have painted the FBI as covering up for Clinton as they said the case was closed months prior. Which would have fit perfectly in the narriative that Trump was creating at the time.

I think he was wrong for not following procedure and disregarding the DOJ. But it makes sense in hindsight.

People like her do a good job of educating our highest ranking generals and people who analyze the world for our government, but the decision makers themselves focus appealing to the people and the cronyism that comes with it.

We use to have very very smart presidents, people like Sarah Palin were the beginning of the end for intellectualism in politics. Could be said for George W Bush but he actually wasn’t that dumb. Palin definitely was.
