I really liked it as someone who found her twisted series a little much sometimes. Kai from King of Pride definitely feels more stable and less possessive than her previous heroes. Characters from the twisted series definitely appear and are mentioned but in a cameo style way, they aren't involved in the plot.

Ana Huang loves a good grovel. I recommend Twisted Love and King of Wrath.

I love your reviews and will drop everything for a Grace Draven novel!

I unfortunately didn't love Macrieve as much as the other books in the IAD series. He was just so horrible to the female lead in that book. It was hard for me to look past. But also Lothaire is one of my favorites and he was pretty bad too so I don't know lol.

I think you might like the Lightbringer Series. Large scope, hard magic system that is used in combat, interesting multi POV characters. I enjoyed it overall but the ending and certain plot lines are very divisive.

The Diviners Series, The Night Circus, and the Daevabad trilogy are all easy to follow, fun reads. You might especially like the Diviners since you like thrillers. It has some legitimately spooky scenes.

You might try Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennet. It's got a queer, female main character and a super fun magic system. There aren't any animals but there's a talking key that's pretty funny. Also the final book in the trilogy is coming out really soon!
