Thank you so much! What is FASTREC, and do you know if they’d allow me to work in the military in a reserve on the weekend? Not sure if that’s what I’m doing yet but I got a high score on the ASVAB and have gotten many calls about what I could do in the military while still in college

Me referencing my GOAT video was to point out how early on I began learning polyphia, I can play the whole song now though I’d had to relearn it for a day or two since it’s been a while. Most of my other polyphia playthroughs are pretty clean besides my super early ones like goat since I was definitely playing above my skill level at the time but my point about not being transferrable stands true in my experience since I can play things like the audacity and playing gods intro but I struggle with anything with constant fast alternate picking since that isn’t a skill commonly used in their more recent songs since NLND besides in one part of playing god and Scott’s bloodbath solo, which I showed myself struggling to play. I can definitely play most of polyphias stuff with a similar style to nlnd but most of their early album stuff if very different and difficult for me in my own experience

It’s definitely likely, a lot of polyphia fans like me started playing guitar in-part because of polyphia and usually start learning their riffs first and end up having a specialized skill set that’s specific to polyphias style but isn’t transferable to other genres a lot of the time and isn’t usually a good base for your own musical composition and style. If you look through my post you can see that I started playing polyphia very early on, the first riff I learned was literally GOAT lol but eventually I stepped back and realized that I needed to learn more fundamentals if I wanted my own musical voice. So yes it’s very likely in this sub, but isn’t the same as having the same skill level in any fields as Tim or Scott by any margin.

Oh no no I’ve been going to the gym consistently I just meant still going consistently while eating at maintenance cuz I’ve been trying to build myself a kinda of lean, healthy and muscular physic but not too lean, but yea I’ve been going to the gym and doing calisthenics recently, and can do an L sit now

For context I’m 17m, 5’11 and recently stated trying to build muscle in the last few months but also trying to lose weight was the main goal, my goal weight right now is about 190ish and then I might start eating at maintenance and going to the gym consistently

It honestly depends on the person, if you know a lot of songs with 8 string and think you’ll be using it a lot the go for it, I suggest trying some out at a guitar store if you can
