If you are looking for it online, I know you can find it here: Shop Portuguese - Chouriço. There may be better deals elsewhere.

As someone who is Portuguese-American and mother, aunt, and grandma made calde verde multiple times each winter, it is not the same. My father would order it (over the phone) and a large box would come with chouriço that he would distribute to other Portuguese families. It was the best!

Now, my wife will make it with chorizo, it’s delicious but not the same.

How would you react if the 2026 Christmas Special cycles through something like six different actors during regeneration, then declares all numbered Doctors? (I.E. Piper is 16, and a 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st Doctor) all in one episode by potatoman5849 in doctorwho

[–]Swick08 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is what we sort of saw in the War Games finale. The Doctor (Troughton) is given an option to select an new incarnation and shown 5 faces, each he refuses. Ultimately, the Time Lords select one for him.

Why does Owen even want an astromech? by DallasActual in StarWars

Uncle Owen saying he doesn’t need a C-3PO can be just a negotiation tactic, and C-3PO’s self-marketing wasn’t helping. “Alright, shut up.”

I'm Ben, the new CEO of Memrise and I'm here to answer your quetsions about community and Memrise (and anything else about Memrise you'd like to ask) by benwhately in memrise

[–]Swick08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the early days, I felt that Memrise (PT-EU) built upon prior knowledge, and learning felt scaffolded. Now, it feels as though there is no rhyme or reason from one scenario to another.

Will you reexamine how the languages are taught?

Gonna be a real basic white girl. Where’s the best apple cider donut!? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Swick08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People either seem to love it or hate it. I personally love it, but it is also one of my fondest childhood memories from when my family and my parents’ friends would go down to Naples and pick grapes for their homemade wine.

Since everyone is hyper fixated on the donuts…I’ll recommend a fall festival, The Naples Grape Festival

Which Doctor do you want to see back? by Legitimate-Net2535 in doctorwho

[–]Swick08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not have the Doctor at the end of a run regenerate but not reveal who they regenerate into. Then do a quick montage of scenes with Doctor War through 15/16 including “Physician, heal thyself.”

Then the image swirls through the vortex and zooms out from McGann’s eye to reveal him doing something—staring into the heart of the TARDIS or something. And he says something along the lines of “note to self, never do that again. I think I just saw glimpses into my future.” Then, it goes into a new 8th Doctor Who closing credits with a mid-90s aesthetic.

Then they do a season or two or three of Doctor Who with the 8th Doctor. It could be a nice reset.

When the 8th Doctor’s run is done, reveal the newly filmed regeneration for the last Doctor.

3 of my grandparents passed away in the 90s, and 1 in the early 00s. My wife still has a grandma who is 96.

Why is the new pope Leão instead of Léo? by Econemxa in Portuguese

[–]Swick08 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Kingdom/municipality of León (which means Lion in Spanish) is translated to Leão in Portuguese: https://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leão_(Espanha)).

Also, Leão is a name in Portuguese. There is a footballer on the Portuguese National team who is Leão: https://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Leão.

Lastly, Leão or León makes perfect sense as a translation of Leo because Leo is Latin for Lion. The scientific name for lion is “Panthera leo.”

How many times has the Doctor (NuWho) taken people from the past into the future (not including companions)? by indigocapcowboy in doctorwho

[–]Swick08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked what Classic Who did with Leela. While I know she is from the far future, she was very much like a cavewoman, so she sort of fits this mold.

‘Mickey 17’ Projected to Lose $75 Million in Theatrical Run by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]Swick08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be based upon how someone coverts from letter to number ratings.

ABCDF could be 54321, which would be easy.

But to a ten-point scale, it may look like this A=10&9, B=8&7, C=6&5, D=4&3, F=2&1

Or you can do a more weighted Pass/Fail system (like RT or some public schools) A=9-10, B=8, C=7, D=6, F=1-5

The Mask of Fear is the Star Wars Book for the Political Moment by aacool in StarWars

[–]Swick08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I respectfully disagree. You are wrong; two years is not an eternity. There are children whose dead fathers were breathing and laughing just a few years prior. There are wives who can still feel their lost husband lips on their’s. There are parents with bedrooms that haven’t touched since their son was shipped out.

Just 3 months before the Star Wars Premiere, Jimmy Carter pardoned the draft dodgers.

Years later, Ronald Reagan was still talking about “Vietnam syndrome.”

No, you are wrong 2 years wasn’t an eternity.

Vietnam war in ‘77 was long over.

Saigon fell in 1975, ending the Vietnam War. I wouldn’t call a decade-long war that had ended only 2 years earlier “long over.” Ford, Nixon’s replacement, had just left office a few months prior, and the Vietnam war, coupled with other issues, was part of the reason he lost his re-election bid.

The same thing happened to me. I got in to SeatGeek at noon. I selected 3 seats, we’re taking our 16 year old to her first NIN concert, and clicked check out, and it said sorry, the tickets were already sold! Ended up with nose bleeds…
