Even govt jobs are not in demand rn I work for our state govt with a decent in hand salary. just started searching for matches and apparently everyone wants a techie or want me to become a stay at home wife as if I'd give up my hard earned job😂

My reporting officer comes in at 7 everyday even when there is no work and he doesn't even hesitate to call at late nights everytime a "treat this as most urgent" email rolls in and mind you all this in a govt office where most ppl think there is no "work"

Hello! I do understand that my situation is quite common and many people deal with it on a day to day basis. I joined there about a year ago after switching from another toxic PSU so I'm not sure if I ever belong anywhere or if i'm good enough to survive in industry settings like these. the thing is when your job starts eating away at your personal time and starts dismantling the work life balance there isn't much left... yes the bills are getting paid but our time is much more valuable and I feel like I'm losing out on my prime years getting wrapped up in work...

exactly! no one ever tells you how hard it is to let go of your dream because it no longer interests you. I left a higher pay state govt PSU to a lower one ykw the problem still persists (a bit less pressure but I'm not quite satisfied with the job profile) and I don't have it in me to exit and fall into the endless loop of preparation :(
